Nope, no multi apps on 17 Pro Max.Typical Apple - sell the world’s fastest phone and the kneecap it by not fixing their own software to make the most of it
I got a iPhone 16e as a company phone recently and yet it can’t still do multi apps (like 2 apps) to this day? But can the 17 pro max do this. I am not talking PIP ?
I was an iPhone guy and when the phone of mines 10 years gave up , got a cheap android - xiaomi was still newish then - as a stop gap - and that shitty phone could allow me to have two apps open at the same time.
Yes, it’s useful for me, I keep both WhatsApp and teams open at the same time. So yeah , my company iPhone is just collecting dust since I can access all my corp apps securely on my personal phone. Waiting to upgrade to the s26 ultra when it comes out soon.

Am now also using a Mac mini too. Was forced to install windows in a VM just to use powerBI. That works well. And excel on Mac doesn’t have the full power query functionality. So the windows VM PC does a great job.
Sell the 17 Pro Max, get S26 Ultra + Accessories + Samsung Watch.Forgot to add - My partner wants to give me her new iPhone pro 17 max - which she just got for her upgrade. If it can do dual apps at the same time - I may consider it.

At this point in the game, if someone prefers Android I recommend they go that way.In those cases I just take a screenshot. Systemwide OCR ftw! Even in my banking qpp I can take screenshots without issue. Also Apple watch ftw! Apple Pay, Whatsapp, Apple Music, customisable complications, unlocking my Mac, airplay, seemless Airpods audio switch over, quiet notifications, bitmapped screen for easy loyalty card barcode scanning etc etc.
Some banking apps prevent screenshots. I experience that on my android. I need to install the banking app on the iPhone to see if that works. In those cases I just take a screenshot. Makes sense the battery life of the 17 still blows my mind even months later.A new market intelligence report shows that Apple dominated the best-selling smartphone rankings for 2025, and the base model iPhone 17 stands out for its position in the top 10.
iPhones filled seven of the top ten positions, with Samsung not making an entry until #5 …
Counterpoint Research published its latest market estimates. Since it’s measuring sales for the whole of 2025, it’s no surprise that it’s the iPhone 16 rather than 17 which comes out ahead.
Same here, absolutely enjoying my 17 PM, it is interesting to me that despite all the focus on AI by many manufacturers last year, it’s Apple who take the crown, proving that AI is really not something most care about.![]()

Agreed, much work needs to be done on iOS 26, I think it is mainly us enthusiasts who pick up on the bugs as it seems most people are quite happy, most of my friends and colleagues who got the 17 range haven’t complained yet I notice things like dropped frames here and there. The iPhone 17 is a brilliant phone, I love mine. But I still feel it's being let down by iOS26. iOS 18 on this would be a match made in heaven imo.
My main gripe is the slow keyboard. Whether in a 3rd party app or the iOS messaging app, it's so slow and laggy. How has iOS26 been out since September and they still haven't fixed this!?!Agreed, much work needs to be done on iOS 26, I think it is mainly us enthusiasts who pick up on the bugs as it seems most people are quite happy, most of my friends and colleagues who got the 17 range haven’t complained yet I notice things like dropped frames here and there.
I think part of the issue is also certain apps, I have noticed the X app gets to a point sometimes where frames are dropped (seems to happen when updating the timeline), yet Instagram, Facebook and most other apps run wonderfully.
