Agreed, though depending on when the iPhone5 comes out it's not a bad little upgrade on the iPhone4 if you don't already have one. There are a lot of exciting Android phones coming out soon though too so I would suggest holding on if you wanna upgrade to a smarter phone, be it iPhone or other (just not Nokia).

I can use one hand with ease,
even better when I play a FPS game using 2 tumbs, I can still see the action on my screen, unlike my iPhone.

Dude seriously, if they designed the phone size based on finger length they would have different models just like we have different size shoes. In fact smaller screens are more painful to use for some people, esp with small keyboards.
I can tell you now, if Apple ever release a bigger screen people will be all over that just as much as they are on the 3.5" and even worse they will call it revolutionary.
Dude, seriously. . . you don't think someone who takes as much attention to detail as Jobs would even consider average hand sizes and design a phone with that in mind?

I been saying it ever since I got the HTC HD2!! Too big to use with one hand. That, and WM were the reasons I got rid of it...
When Apple brings out the bigger screen it will be announced by Cook as if it is a major breakthrough in the industry. Apple knows they have to retain such a major plus for the next iPhone so didn't include it in the 4S. Apple's not like Samsung that throws all they have into a new device to win the spec sheet battle. For me they are starting to move a bit too slow, but I do appreciate the thoroughness with which they do these things. Will always be a fan of Apple products.

If he did, he most defiantly got it wrong, as most touch screens out there is bigger than 3.5" not only Android we talk about BB and Windows as well. The ones that's lower normally dont sell well, bar iPhone where the users have no choice.
By your argument of ergonomics, people consciously buy devices that's uncomfortable.
The iPhone 4 screen is too small. I gave up on it after a few months. Now that I use the SGS2 I can say that with certainty. The SGS2 is perfect in hand ... very light, very thin, narrow enough but with a large screen that makes touch screen use a joy (esp for typing). This coming from a Bold 9000 keyboard fan.

When the iPhone 5 arrives with larger screen - which will be the case - what will the ergonomics debate then look like? Just about every reputable tech journo asked for a larger screen with the latest update.

Siri if it works the way it was designed to (which I suspect it will) is a far greater accomplishment then simply sticking a 4.3" screen on the iPhone. Our obsession with technical specifications clouds our judgement. Where detractors see failure for sticking to a 3.5" screen others see sensible ergonomics!! Where some see a 4.3" screen as the ultimate progress others will see Siri and an integrated voice recognition application that actually works as significant progress.
Again I'll point you to GSMArena's review of the HTC HD2 where the 4.3" screen is described as too big!!

I personally don't regard a 4.3" on a mobile phone as advantageous. Am I going to watch the Lords of the rings trilogy on my 4.3" screen? No. Would I watch the Lord of the rings trilogy on my 4.3" if it were 3D? No.
Honestly, What's next?? Surround sound?? Do me a favour.
There is certain functionality and a practically we will never expect from our mobile smart phones. As much as they progress they not going to be replacing our 32", 42", 50", 60" Plasma's...
Luckily the iPhone is manufactured for the paying public and not tech journo's...

This is now a perfect example of the Apple revolution crap I was talking about. For the last 2 years I been bragging about Android Voice commands and iPhone users came with all type of excuses like you will never use it and you cant talk to your phone while in public or in a meeting. Now that Apple comes out with the very same type of tech you would swear its the second coming and the answer to all of life's problems.
I must say it just make me laugh.
Pointing to a review from years ago, when people where not use to size is not proof. Go read reviews on the same site about the latest phones when they come with small screens. You will get the exact opposite view from the one you keep on linking.
Like I said before people have different hand sizes and what works for one is not the answer for everyone, similar to the fact that we dont all wear the same size shoes. I played with a 4.6" phone and dont find it worth my while to pursue but I feel exactly the same about the 3.7" and smaller phones. Unfortunately Apple dont have a choice yet so people have to make do, like it or not.
Go look up Cognitive dissonance, its something all Apple users should be use to by now.

Why would you brag about a piece of software that doesn't work. As is the case with just about every voice recognition app I've come across they inaccurate due to various factors, accents and background noise are 2 contributors. Will Siri be any different? Who knows, hence why I cautiously suggest 'IF it works the way it was designed to'... And yeah, it would be embarrassing sitting in a crammed bus or train yelling instructions at a disobedient phone.

Granted that if you have a heavy South African accent you do pick up some problems with Android Voice control, but it did provide the API's that is used in applications like Vlingo.
As for Siri, I recon if its anywhere close to Vlingo, you will not have issues at all. I find that with Vlingo I dont have to change the way I speak or repeat myself. I suspect it will be, as the old Siri application that was on iTunes store and Vlingo both used the same engine from http://www.nuance.com/ otherwise known as Dragon naturally speaking.
The only problem I have with voice control is that you have to be connected to the internet to use it, and with SA's data costs it also ads a money value to voice vs pressing buttons.
Edit: I haven't tested it but many people rate Dragon Go!(Nuance own client for Dragon Voice) very high as well.
