Apple iPhone 5 disappointment

I am certainly not above criticism, thats exactly my point nobody is perfect.

Take cars for example there I'm not impartial and love Audi's even though I drive a BMW.I only bought a BMW because for the price I paid the Audi I would've got would not have been better.Am I an Audi fan? yeah go ahead and point that finger at me I'll openly admit it but at the end of the day I'll still take whats most rational over being a brand snob.

So what's your point? I'm not a brand snob either. I just get the best experience from Apple products. You know as well as anyone how much I flip flop between devices; but I just always end up sticking on the Apple ones because ... it's just how it happens. I get better experiences with them. But you think because that's the case, it makes me a fanboy and you exempt from fanboyism.

Just because no one is perfect is not an excuse for making ad hominem.

It devalues whatever point you are trying to make and makes you look like a troll.

We all just need to accept that Android fans will jump on any little bad news for the opposition, except for WP8 because well, that's not opposition....

And Apple fans do exactly the same thing...

So when iPhone 5S is announced, Android will be on the back foot but then Key Lime Pie will be released, and Apple will be on the back foot. Then Apple releases iOS7 and they'll still be on the back foot etc etc etc...

At the end of the day, this is THE BEST THING for us (consumers) because you just know that Apple is thinking up some serious things from a hardware perspective to kick Android in the teeth (I'm not going to speak about the software because it seems to be accepted that iOS will never change...) and Samsung\HTC\Google are also going full steam ahead to try cut them off.

So it's all good, I mean we're looking at 8 core freaking phones this year and screens with the same res as my 46 inch TV and GPU's more powerful than gaming handhelds and and and.....You've even got AMD and Nvidia sitting up and taking notice.

Competition is good and there's definitely one on!!

Er I was referring/talking to JStrike in my previous posts but ok when it comes to you...You're a weird one hence I asked you when you getting your iphone surely an iphone 4s is affordable and on the cards by now at least?Time to upgrade that sgss1 in any case to get a more modern taste of whats out now first hand be it android ios or wp,it may just change your perceptions.

Take bevonk for example he used to be the biggest isheep on mybb and yet today he sings very very different tunes after actually physically using the newer devices for a while.

^ This, in fact you should thank to opposition.

Just think how boring either sides devices would have been if they where stuck in at 2009 with no push to improve.

Oh I'm not making any excuses,I'll proudly say it again that dude is an isheep as can be clearly seen from the article/blog post he wrote. If you don't like it then stop posting junk from your fanboy guru's.

Just because one does not hold your fanboy guru's in high esteem does not make one a troll. Now stop acting childish and crying troll. This is a place to discuss tech not cry whole day

Yeah you gotta love the current phone arena since you've got two giants in the form of Apple and Google/partners trading blows with two real upcoming contenders that look to be seriously into joining the big boys in the form of BB10 and WP8.

I'll be happy to see em all survive and do well.Makes innovation really advance rapidly!

Stop frothing.

My apologies,I didn't realize you are also a part of cult of mac or those support groups.:)

I've got the most up-to-date version of Android on my phone now (2.4.5). It's nice, really. Love the switch between settings and notifications and swipe integrated into the default keyboard. I don't have any perceptions; I know what's out there and the SGS is still the best value till my contract comes up for renewal; when I may get an iPhone or may not, it all depends. I'm not really in a position financially to go out and buy a 4S in cash though.

One could take a cynical view and suggest that he just flipped his fanboy polarities.

I'm sure you'll find that reading about a device and actually using it are pretty different just bare that in mind when purchasing.

Did he?He seems to still like his ipad mini which he bought after his change.

Cerebus, just out of interest, do you work for Core or work at iStore at Somerset or something, are you connected to Apple in anyway?

I see where the confusion comes from.

Comparing 2.4.5 (which is a really odd OS release version) to 4.1.x is really like comparing chalk and cheese. Android, as opposed to Apple, actually makes OS changes. They don't give you exactly the same OS and then deliver a keynote speech about the changes that you can't see.

I think he meant version of the ROM that he is using. There is no Android 2.4.

Just out of curiousity- which ROM is this?

I think that was a typo but either way even 4.2. on something like an sgs1 compared to 4.1 on an s3 or one x is a huge difference and the experience will be many folds more enjoyable on the newer hardware.

That's because Android was awful to start with.
4.2 was the first really good release. I doubt there will be many dramatic changes in the future

Ugh sorry I meant 4.2.5 on Mackay Rom.

Oh checked again it's actually 4.2.1 but the rom number is 4.2.5. Sorry :o

I'm not very critical of 4.2's OS. It's really quite good.
