Apple launch event next week, new iPhone expected

Looking forward to this being live streamed just to be informed :) on what is coming along.

Luckily they scheduled this just before the GTAV rush :p.

lol, I assume you are not going to swop your SII? :p

Assumption confirmed to be correct - here is your Bells. ;)

I would consider an iPhone when Apple allows me to use ... no wait ... I will never get me an iPhone

Looking at the New iOS could be interesting but have a feeling the only innovative thing they going to do is make the iPhone availble in two extra colours

Colourful Invite??? Oh lord. They are going to make iPhones in different colors. Yeah that will be the big thing. Or no, that's a long shot... you will have the option of the power button being red, blue or yellow... will be the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6s will introduce a green button as well.

Funny thing about buttons… it turns out having a physical button is even more important to Android users - a kickstarter project that lets you insert a button into the headphone jack achieved their $40,000 goal in one day!

Phones won't be here for a while 'tho... I'm expecting IOS6 to go live right after Tim's keynote and that suits me just fine.

EDIT: Yep 7, seven, VII... Goddamn I'm useless before my first coffee. :p

Correct - we might see them on our shores late December as per the norm.
Also I think you meant iOS 7.

It won't go live after the keynote - us developers will get a GM copy of it first then two days before the iPhone is launched (20th Sep) then iOS7 will be released to the public. This is how it has been for years. So expect iOS7 on the 18th.

Secondly the incorrect info in this thread is funny.

1. There are two iPhones expected to me released. The "Low cost" iPhone 5C - which is an iPhone 5 wrapped in a plastic, back. With a few different colours to choose from.

2. The iPhone 5S is expected to come in gold and a graphite color as well as a faster CPU / GPU and 128GB storage as well as a fingerprint scanner.

Yeah it's called Pressy. I think it's brilliant.

iOS 7 you mean?

I would. If they put decent software on it, say, Android, I'd definitely consider it. Hardware-wise they're not that far behind anymore and they're really well built.

I'm in the UK from next week for a month so hopefully they launch their new phones there during that period.

And yeah, next on the cards is iOS7 :p

Meh ... Albeit very interesting, I would have no use for something like this. But at least there is still innovation for users who would want something like this. Small things like this is what keeps Android development going strong - something lacking at Apple.

So you won't get one either then. Apple will never let it's users have administration rights on their phones - and this is something that goes hand-in-hand with say Android

Just keen for iOS7... no where near upgrade time for me but I'll watch it anyway... hoping they live stream it to the ATV like the last one.

What is this GTA V rush you speak of... the rush to buy the game?

Looking forward to the call blocker function in IOS7!

I just tried an iOS 7 beta on my iphone 5 this past week and it really is a fresh breath of air for the iOS Eco-system,so much so that my galaxy s4 has been relegated down to my secondary phone the last few days.

The notification centers, command pop up etc means that iOS has finally caught up with Android as far as usability is concerned. The only thing missing I suppose is widgets but I'm not missing em too much right now.

I use both and while android phones are better all round its hard to deny that for some reason the quality of apps on the iOS eco-system are much better. Why don't developers make better apps for android?
