Apple Music

Been pretty underwhelmed with the iPhone experience thus far, but I am a fan of Apple Music. Never tested the alternatives to be fair but I'm picking up what they're putting down. Pretty sure I'll sign up after the 3 month trial ends.
Got some really great old school tracks - they seem to have pretty much everything I've searched for.

What will happen if you don't subscribe to Apple music after the trial but have offline music already downloaded to a laptop not connected to the internet?

Im assuming it'll look at the pc date or they have some feature enabled to prevent something like this?

It probably requires you to log in after some period

Apple could really do with some P2P technology for distributing data/updates/stuff like Microsoft is doing with Windows 10.

For that matter it's the perfect job for Airdrop.

All I would like to see is that it LEAVES anything I listen on the device for offline play so that I don't need to stream everything all the time and I don't need to specially go download it.

Actually I suspect it will keep working, based purely on the fact that any device these days has to talk to the internet at some point for some reason.

Then again it could have a built-in timer for the 30 days inside iTunes itself I guess.

R60pm is not bad offering from them, ill be signing up for sure.

My music collection before Apple Music was around 1500+ songs, I'm now just under 3000 and growing.

Offline music seems to be very buggy on the iPhone still, seems if you select a large playlist larger than 60-100+ songs to add offline , it starts to cache them but nothing actually happens.

Only way seems to be going Artist by Artist.

Signed up yesterday. On both my Mac and iPhone. Just this random issue of local music on my iPhone just stopping play whenever.

Also had an issue where an album was cached for offline use then a couple hours later wasn't cached anymore.

apologies if this has been covered already, but I would like to know if anyone has issues in playing Music from their iTunes library?

I was listening to a conversation on the weekend and a few Apple folks were bitching about the fact that since the recent updates, one cannot use your iPhone/iPad to connect (wifi) to your music library on your iMac (iTunes based I assume)

Is that correct?

edit : My 10,000th post

YAY! :D :D :D

Was having issues downloading Apple music songs to my iPhone 5S, IOs9 beta.

I would select an entire playlist and select download and it didn't work, just animated circle like it was thinking, I changed my dns I'm using 8.8.8.8 to something else and downloads started up.

US vs SA price

I am trying to decide if it is worth switching back to SA store for Apple Music. Its $9/pm in US store and only R59 in SA. Anyone know if the SA store is still different/limited in terms of content?

Awesome. Thanks for confirming. Going to wait until things have settled - bit nervous about those stories of metadata etc. info in iTunes being corrupted.

Yes when you switch to using the iCloud Library you can no longer sync.

So either switch off iCloud Library or embrace the change.

It's not an "issue" it's a design. I'm also pretty sure they explain it the first time they ask if you want to switch it on.

I haven't used it on the US store but I don't see anything missing from the SA store for Apple Music.

Made a boo boo, signed into app store with US account to retrieve an app, signed in with SA account and all 26GB of offline music gone, I want to cry :(

Could anyone who has both a SA store and US store maybe compare the music library?

Also, would that mean if you majority of the time use the US store, will the music be removed overtime you switch? i.e.: say I sign up with SA store but stay signed in with US store would I be able to use the service?

The US iTunes store has more, I checked a couple of albums like Eminems clean song versions they on US but nothing on SA.
Also a couple others albums if I remember but not enough to justify $10pm.

If you signup with Apple Music using the SA iTunes account then like me login with any other account , it'll remove all your music.
I tried restarting the phone after signing back in with SA account, resyncing with iTunes on Macbook and even restored from backup, nothing brought the music back.

Very silly of Apple when we sign in to App store, it should not sign out the apple ID used in Apple Music. There should be some segregation between App store and Apple Music apps. or else each time I switch an App store ID, 600 - 700 songs downloads again...again... and again ...

OMF.

Are the songs at least still in your iCloud library so you don't need to start from scratch ?

OMF again.
