Installed SchismTV/Dimatology: a pre-configured custom build that installs on top of Kodi 17

all-in-one: follow the steps to install at http://www.dimitrology.com/2017/02/09/how-to-install-schismtv-builds-2017/ and select the "all in one" option.

for Exodus / Zen / Bob add-ons: some (if not THE) best add-ons for Kodi that come with SchismTV/Dimitrology.

and managed to get real debrid working for reliable HD streams. google and sign-up for a real debrid account if you can get the above working - makes HD streaming easier, fast and reliable.

Ordered on 07 December 2016;
Arrived in JHB on the 16 December 2016;
Arrived at my local Post Office on 3 March 2017!

No notification received from SAPO, but fortunately, Aliexpress updated their tracking detail as '1st Notification sent'...

Popped in to local branch, who gave me the CT Customs number - they answered on 1st try, and 3 minutes later had the local tracking number [ :wtf: ], picked it up this afternoon...

$7.55 including shipping, compared to several hundred ZAR for a similar remote protector locally. Very happy I went this route - took its time thanks to Customs, but at this price, I'm not complaining... :D
 
I ordered 1 on the 16 December and recieved it at the end of Jan.
 
Recently upgraded to 20mb adsl2+ line, was hoping to see vast improvement in Netflix but it still looks pretty much the same.

Anyway next year I'm getting UHD TV for my man cave, how would we tell what quality a show is streaming to us in?
I read somewhere that US netflix shows whether its 4k etc.

Which ISP ?

Afrihost / Axxess has gone down the crapper since 1 January 2017 when their new shaping of capped accounts came into effect.

Moved to an IS backbone and couldn't be happier. Full speed everything.
 
Was on Afrihost but cancelled , quality sucked after 7pm.
Now on Vox fat pipe which also seems to have bad days.

Can highly recommend Webafrica or CrystalWeb (both IS backbones) - get a trial for both and see which is best, for me ended up being WA, but only just.

After January, AH became unusable from 7pm till bedtime .... disgraceful.
 
Are they planning another generation of this thing ?

I find it hard to contemplate this device not supporting UHD :/
 
I'm going to in 3 - 6 weeks ... in a 3rd world country. Fiber explosion is massive this year and I'm pretty sure that in Europe or the US, they all the had bandwidth back then. Hell, there were plenty UHD TVs back then and UHD steamers.

I think a bit of foresight would have been welcomed.

If they launch a new version in the next year, great. It just seems a waste to have such a limited device stuck on HDMI system brought our years back and unable to stream current gen products.
 
Just an update :

I don't have to wait for the fibre to stream UHD. Both Amazon and Netflix already allow me on my 20mbps VDSL link ... Amazon with HDR on certain shows. I'm not sure how, I'm honest, as I thought it may be a tad slow.

Real world speed around 18mbps
 
Notice in the last few days the YouTube app seems to struggle continuing to play another clip. Seems to freeze in the transition. Ie it says 1s to go. I'd say it's at least 1 in 5 transitions where this happens. So much that it's noticeable.

Any1 else had this happen?

Nope not on mine. Maybe uninstall the app and reinstall?

I've got a small issue with mine as well.

When I play YouTube video the small description and name of the video doesn't disappear automatically, I gotta pause it and press play again to make it go away.
