Aramex global shopper

Anyone else see the FLEX option?

Ah so they now also enabled it for SA.

Well its $119 per year. So unless you ship many small items on a very regular basis, its not worth it, but if you do, I see lots of savings. DeeinSouthAfrica could potentially save a lot.

I see it trying to figure out how much I'll save.

I might save due to aliexpress split sellers. I wish they had a parcel concatenating service. Even if it's a service to hold the parcel at origin for 7 days and group ship anything that might arrive within the 7 days.

Smart Saver
Get more savings on multiple packages that are shipped together to you. Ship more, save more!

This sounds interesting, wish they had more details.

Any comment on Gifts? Someone is sending me 4 wallets for free, I just have to pay for Armex shipping.

Aramex messed up my order. The package is apparently stuck in customs clearance because I haven't uploaded the invoice. I can't upload the invoice, because on the web portal, it's saying the package is still in the US and hasn't shipped, thus there's no invoice upload function.

I sent them a couple of emails which got no response. Yesterday I phoned and got hold of someone that's trying to be helpful.
They've escalated it on their side and are trying to resolve it...

This will work for people who are not with FNB. I am with FNB and get R75 off per shipment.

If you want to use the Shanghai address, do not copy and paste the address given as it does not make sense.
Aramex has the address as Lane 248 Huqingping Highway.
There is no such highway.
It has taken blood, sweat and tears, and a lot of use of Google translate, to finally get the following address:

YOUR NAME YOUR, ACCOUNT NUMBER
Shanghai Minhang District, Shanghai New Rainbow Street
Unit 1, Building 15, No. 248 Hu Qing Ping Gong Lu,
Minhang District, Shanghai, China
201105 86-4006318388

Do not put your account number in the main body of the address as it seems to change the address in Chinese somehow. Rather put name, account number and then address.

This is the Chinese translation:
YOUR NAME YOUR, ACCOUNT NUMBER (use Google Translate to change into Chinese)
上海 上海市 闵行区 新虹街道
1单元, 15号楼, 248号 Hu Qing Ping Gong Lu,
闵行区, 上海市, 中国
201105 86-4006318388

If using TaoBao, you have no choice but to input the address in Chinese. This will take a stiff scotch and a load of patience.

However, it does work - I have been notified that my parcel has arrived in Shanghai. This makes two parcels that have arrived there so far.

Trying this on Taobao, How do you get pass the 2nd dropdown? I do China Mainland, then Shanghai on the 2nd dropdown, but it fails to load the Cities so I cannot proceed

Hi, my name is Colin.
I did the translation for our shipping address for Aramex in Shanghai..

You will need to switch back and forth between the translated page and original Chinese page and copy into a notepad the Chinese characters (streets, buildings, roads, areas, cities etc) of the various parts of the form.

Drop down menus will mostly not work in the English translated versions of the page.

Your final result for the 'detailed address' should match the Chinese Character address Denise gave you earlier.

After that, you will need to translate your name (if possible) into Chinese with your AGS account at the end of the 'consignee name' section.

Be patient, this took me a while afternoon to get right!

The detailed address, which I copied directly from you

上海 上海市 闵行区 新虹街道
1单元, 15号楼, 248号 Hu Qing Ping Gong Lu,
闵行区, 上海市, 中国
201105 86-4006318388

shows incorrectly on the translated web page in the saved addresses section. Is your's the same?

You are getting there. but address is not entirely accurate. If you use Google translate on the address you will get this:

Works when I remove the chinese equivalent of the below from the detailed address field.
Shanghai Minhang District, Shanghai New Rainbow Street

Yes, the translation to 'new rainbow Street' isn't what we expected either, it is probably just a Google translation error.

Bottom line, we order, it gets delivered to the Aramex agent!

There is no flex shipping rates for South Africa on the website.Only Namibia

I ordered 6 x Echo Dots in December. Package arrived yesterday with only 5. AGS say they assume one was stolen.
Initially they offered to refund me $10 for the missing Dot. This obviously made no sense so I queried. They've now increased their refund amount to $29 (i.e. cost of the Dot). For those of you who've been refunded in the past, did they refund you any of your AGS shipping fee or customs duties?

I have a question,

If I purchase an item of Amazon US, and have it shipped via Aramex Global Shopper to South Africa will I be charged VAT twice? Amazon are delivering to a US address and will levy VAT, and then South Africa will levy Vat again when it arrives here? How do you guys go about avoiding this situation?

Search this thread for the Amazon vat refund email address.
Only claim back on items they are willing to ship to SA.
I don't think you can claim on Echo or Echo dot as they don't send to SA, but only to NY.

I try and avoid using AGS with Amazon as many bad experiences. Try and find same product on amazon that ships to SA, surprisingly a lot of products ship to SA and it's cheaper than aramex (and amazon uses aramex!!!)

You can claim back the vat from Amazon. Think its earlier in this thread.
But once AGS receives the item, ask AGS for a waybill, and explain it is to claim vat back from Amazon for the purchase. There is a specific email address for US amazon, and another for UK amazon, to which you email the details of your order and waybill to get the vat back.

Would be keen to know about Echos or there is no chance.
