Aramex global shopper

The sad part is that you paid duties on the cost of the boot plus the tax. This is because they calculate duties on the total not on the item itself

no, this is not true.

I have the Customs worksheet, and it states that the tax amount of $13.22 is a "non dutiable charge"

Was hoping u were going to be the one to answer it
I was working it out - Flex works very like the way the post office calculates their airmail parcels.
Flex is R150 for the first 100g and R13 per 100g thereafter. It is R99 per 500g if over 3kg.
If I transport large parcels I can save, and if the FNB discount still works I can save even more.
However, I import boards for Televisions (tcon and main boards) and they weigh 200g to 500g each.
It just isn't worth spending a grand five hundred on joining Flex.

I have about 20 a week coming in so I like the idea of 100g charges. Just waiting for Olivia on the discount.

Anyone bought a watch from Amazon us through AGS. The watch i want is $100
So all according to what I've read, customs is 0% + 14% local VAT + 4% New york VAT. + R200 AGS shipping.
Does this seem right. Don't want to be hit with any surprises.

I am awaiting 2 parcels from Amazon
also arrived in SA Sunday
Both went into that state
So I contacted them and sent the documents needed

One has cleared other one is still in that state

First time using AGS and its been a pretty smooth process thus far.. Have another package from NY on its way with identical tracking info.. Expecting both to be delivered sometime tomorrow or Friday.

Meanwhile I have just contacted them about a parcel that went missing in November last year. It may be only $16.77, but it is my money lost, so I want to claim under AGS protect.

Aramex spent the whole of November and most of December telling me that it was still in customs. What rubbish.

That might not happen as quickly as you think.
Departed Operations facility - In Transit is next, and that could just mean movement from Building A to Despatch Bay F at Aramex JHB.

That is why I stated I hope I will have it by tomorrow
I am hoping that the fact that the package will already be considered late if delivered tomorrow will help push them to get it here asap

but then again I may be delusional for hopping that will happen :D

Aramex parcel page has a value that is different from your uploaded invoice - is that a problem?

I asked already:

Please note that these amounts refer to the declared value of your shipments as per the origin. We don’t work with this information, we work with the documentation that is loaded online to calculate your Customs Charges.
