Aramex global shopper

Anyone else had issues with local Aramex not accepting invoices if they are not in English?

I sent them a German invoice that had one item on it. Even a 6 year old kid can see the value of the item, and the cost of shipping on the invoice, but Aramex would not accept it. Google translate to the rescue.

Yep, they have enough on their plate without trying to translate an invoice into English as well. Use Chrome to translate it into English and use a Snipping tool (or Snagit).
If necessary, use the app Microsoft translator. Screen grab the invoice and open it in Microsoft Translator and it will translate it for you.

Thanks! I'll check it out.

Aramex has been having delays and messing up my business. Has anyone used Dipex before? Apparently when you import clothes you don't pay customs, which I find hard to believe. I am paying 45% plus I am experiencing delays :(

Shame that you are having delays. I guess it is the nature of the business. I import boards for TV's (Power /Main /TCON), which has no duty, and it takes just over a week from Shanghai to Cape Town.
I am also on Flex, and I notice things are getting delivered from elsewhere in the world (USA /UK) much quicker than ever before.

I've ordered some beer dispensing equipment. Aramex have labelled it as Automotive Parts AND got the amount incorrect - it should be $375. Should I get this corrected or will customs look at my actual invoice which I've attached?

Let me investigate the Flex option. Thanks

Olivia says they don't look at the estimated amount, but at the invoice you attach.
Is there a difference in duty between your beer equipment and car parts? There are so many sub categories that the customs agent might have not found the beer-making equipment category and just chosen one with the same duty.

Strange, the amount has now been updated to "N/A". In the past they've marked my brewing equipment as "Spare Parts", or "Scientific Equipment"... but I'm worried Automotive Parts carry quite a high duty. At what point should I kick up a fuss about this - and can I contest it once it hits our shores?

I figured you would be emailing Olivia already. Always complain immediately you see a discrepancy.
She is but one cog in a huge machine and can only rectify other people's mistakes if you get to her early enough.

+1 Olivia really makes life better if you need an issue resolved at AGS.

Unfortunately Olivia's e-mail responds with "Out of Office and will return on the 30 May 2018". Are there any other competent people that work there?

Aramex JHB do not work weekends, or over Easter.
Shop and Ship New York do not work Sundays.
Easter is not a federal holiday in the USA, so NY will be hard at work tomorrow, but JHB will not.

My package that I got today had multiple tracking page updates on Saturday 21st, and 28th April. I'm getting the feeling that they now started working on Saturdays...

Another surprise was no VAT/TAX on a value of 29 EUR after supplying the Invoice. Just R199 shipping.

Looks as if the FNB Promotion did indeed end April 30th.
