Aramex global shopper

Sent email to Tebogo - 3 emails - over the past 3 days - absolutely no response
I had 4 emails for different shipments this morning.
Each email had Pay Now Reminder in the subject line. Each email told me my parcel was on hold - payment due and asked me to pay.
I had paid the shipping on each parcel days ago!
This is insulting, and totally unacceptable. It takes moments to check parcel history before sending out emails.

Lucky you :)

I'm officially giving up - now i'm more interested in exactly how much longer they can drag this out.

Won't ever be using these clowns again thats for sure - what a proper shyteshow! :D

Now I'm told I need a LOA (Letter of Authority) by NRCS.

What in actual fark is that !?

What the hell are you importing?

Background to the NRCS
The National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications ( NRCS) was established on 1 September 2008, in accordance with the provisions of the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications Act, (Act no.5 of 2008) (NRCS Act). It emerged as an independent organisation from the original Regulatory Division of the South African Bureau of Standards and falls within the area of responsibility of the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti).*
The NRCS’s mandate includes promoting public health and safety, environmental protection and ensuring fair trade. This mandate is achieved through the development and administration of technical regulations and compulsory specifications as well as through market surveillance to ensure compliance with the requirements of the compulsory specifications and technical regulations. NRCS stakeholders include the South African Government, industry and the citizens.

Only required if importing a motor vehicle - some clueless import clerk at Aramex has stuffed up, no surprises there.

If Dee the resident Aramex cheer leader is getting annoyed then you know Aramex are really ****ing up.

when you think Aramex couldn't get worse....its like they have been taken over by SAPO
Nooo. Nothing is that bad... The Sapo charge R26 for every overseas parcel and say it is customs duty. Meanwhile we all know it is a get-out-of-debt levy.
Tracking is hit and miss, and customer service finally answer your quiery 2 weeks after your parcel has been delivered.
No, Aramex Global Shopper may be pathetic at the moment, but the alternative is far worse.

No, there are alternatives, I ship with DHL cheaper than Aramex. I had to use Aramex (not AGS) to ship from China this month because - go figure, they were the only courier that would ship lithium batteries - but it took 15 days to clear and deliver - no reason for the delay, just endless communication back and forth because things then dont progress like at a regular courier - every step with them is a different stumbling block.

So some lady at the JNb branch told me something about parcels being audited. Can anyone explain what that means?

My parcel has been stuck there since the 9th. It's a set of office chair wheels :crylaugh:

Maybe customs have flagged Aramex shipments for whatever reason, that would easily cause a week or two delay.
They have to go to the Aramex warehouse and physically inspect parcels and then give a release or request more documents if they suspect funny business, this takes time.

That would explain a lot. No wonder Aramex is ducking and diving - Customs is government controlled, and a law unto themselves.
This explains why my Shanghai TV parts make it to my door in a week (no duty), yet the Google /Amazon orders via NY take 3 weeks - via customs.

I got an email response from Tebogo Majozi. Tebogo just confirms what I already know, that my parcel is stuck in clearance.

Tebogo CC'd Zithulele Khumalo (who is handling my "file") and asked him to update me, but nothing... Even direct emails to Zithulele is going unanswered.

At last! A day after emailing Zithulele, that was handling my "file", my parcel suddenly cleared customs.
