Aramex global shopper

So I got an email at 6am today saying that the shipment has been received. Sent them my invoice now. So it doesn't take a few days at all.

Just a question about the grand total of the item though. I was charged US tax since it was shipped to an American address. Do I include this in the total amount that I submit to aramex, or do I just submit the amount of the item without US tax? Seems unfair for our customs guys to use the American tax amount to work out how much VAT to charge me here.

I am happy with AGS. Works great, in fact I prefer to use AGS over other shipping options on most international shops that do ship to SA. The whole process is streamlined through their website or app and I dont have to wait for a random phonecall to let me know I need to pay customs or what not.

They may not be next day door delivery shipping, but they are not that slow that you need to complain. If you want that, feel free to go pay a premium for that. Not sure why you complaining in this thread.

Isn't it cheaper if they ship directly to SA because you don't get charged US tax for having it shipped to New York first?

Depends on many things. Most of the time for me the AGS shipping is cheaper than the shop's method of shipping, because its usually free shipping within the US.
Some shops (like Amazon) allow you to claim the US tax back after providing documents showing you shipped with a forward shipper like AGS.

How do you do this? I just asked amazon for a tax refund and they said it's not possible.

Not happy at the moment. Parcel left Singapore Saturday. Been in Dubai apparently the whole week and coming on the “next plane” every time I call.

Different order from Amazon was ordered Monday and already in Country albeit at customs all through Amazon Shipping using Aramax I think lol.

Second time trying AGS and while it’s quicker then the post office they really don’t seem to have their **** together in some aspects.

It was delivered on the 27th to NY and pretty much left NY depot same day. I was surprised at this though for NY and then they went and gave me R100 discount :)

Does anyone know if AGS ships electronics with li-ion batteries built-in? (in this case Beats headphones).

I don't really wanna use them cause they useless as my last package sat for 9 days in customs in ZA but it seems there's not many other options for shipping lithium batteries these days.

Shanghai shipments are moving along just fine, and they were Ground Zero for the 11.11 sale.
I would scream at JHB about your Singapore shipment - 3 days is the max time any shipment should sit at Origin.

If anyone knows a contact at JHB other than the call center could they let me know please.

I emailed aramex about giving me some sort of proof that they are exporting the item from US to SA, but they don't seem to know what I'm talking about for some reason. I was just told that the waybill number is the tracking number and it's on its way to SA. I specifically said that I want a pdf or something similair that confirms they are exporting to SA.

What do you actually send to amazon to get your tax back?

Hi

Has anyone shipped from walmart?

I actually tried buying from them two years ago (with the idea of shipping via Aramex) but they kept reversing the transactions on any South African credit card I tried to use.

IIRC, someone else mentioned that they may also refuse to ship to the Aramex address.
