You are lucky lol, I ordered two smart cameras from Xiaomi in India. Total cost about R800.

I got debited R14k for customs this morning, it seems they probably used USD instead of INR for the calculation.

First time in 6 years this has happened. Needless to say I have taken my credit card off their website platform.

Wish me luck.in sorting this out.

Scream and wait. The sort out is easy, but it delays delivery.

I think that is just vat plus the clearance fee of R50.

Not quite as simple. That 15% is levied on invoice plus duty. If you have ordered a 20 grand phone you are looking at a klomp change to pay.

I spoke to them, don't really get a comfy feeling they are on top of it. Do they reimburse soon afterwards I hope.
