Aramex global shopper

Ok thats good news :) Still getting used to AGS, was only my 2nd shipping with them, previous one was a bit faster actually.

Yeah they are a bit slow at the moment, I got hit with both public holidays(and the typhoon and the Dubai plane crash) on 2 of my packages.

Lol, I only got hit by the typhoon. You know, we may complain, but for small items there is nothing better. At this moment I have a parcel in Japan, one in New York, one in customs and one out for delivery today.

Is anyone using usunlocked with Aramex? They mention they only work with certain partners and Aramex is not on the list.

Looks like AGS has classified my parcel incorrectly as electronics or they are sending me the wrong parcel. The contents are definitely not electronics and the seller confirmed that he didn't mark it as that. From what I've read here and on HelloPeter they have mixed up parcels before. Maybe I'm getting someone else's new iPhone?

electronics dont have duties, not the end of the world.
argh they do lots of mistakes but usually end up fixing them.

if they could only do a major overhaul of the OR Tambo side of the operation, world be a world class service

They do it all the time, customs is based on the invoice not the description on the website so don't panic.

I'm biblically annoyed right now, package has been held by customs as the seller decided to put a fake invoice onto the package below duty free value without telling or asking me, I then uploaded the correct invoices and now there's a discrepancy...

Thx. I just hope it's the correct parcel. Just received my email for paying for the shipping and there are no duties or vat :) Seems like keeping it under R400 works. Although someone mentioned R500 being the limit. I'll find out soon enough as I have another parcel on the way thats over R400, but still under R500.

That discrepancy sounds like it could be a pain to resolve, hope you get it sorted.

I've shipped two replacement Fitbits with them. One was marked as electronics and the other as a medical device. Both arrived in the same time frame with the same associated costs (R175). I wouldn't worry about the classification just yet.

this usually results in a R1500 fine....:(:erm:

Seems I got the wrong end of the stick... They just needed the PoP as well, didn't believe I paid the value I declared at?? The invoice I saw on the pic taken in Germany was the Aramex invoice for the shipping.

then you should be just fine. if there wasnt an invoice included with lower value then its just a standard stop to compare your declared invoice with your cc statement, that is just a formality.

mybad..you said the seller included an invoice lower than the one you submitted...that would be a problem if stopped:erm:

Nah don't panic, I thought there was a lower value invoice, saw one in the pic for 25euro but it was the aramex shipping invoice.

Japan is moving (Not an earthquake) :D
So, it seems to take an entire week for Japan to release a parcel.

Yeah mine took a while too, I'm guessing high volume?

I was checking out Aramex.co.za hoping they had local shipping rates on their website (besides dropping it off at P&P for R99), and I came across an advert for Drop and Ship. Weird, it seems the same as Shop and Ship, only the S is a D.

Another thing, I ordered two microsoft keyboards from the USA. It came to R666 (Blame the demonic exchange rate). As far as I can tell, the people in JHB have released them without duty being added. Time will tell... (crosses fingers). The same keyboards on Takaplenty are R900 each.
