Aramex global shopper

Anyone used MyUS.com, how do they compare to Aramex Global Shopper? My own experience with MYUS.com experience is currently going terrible, from parcel unable to be delivered to their own warehouse to now sitting in their warehouse for over a week with the agent now implying if they can’t find it by Tuesday they will refund me…. So you basically telling me there’s no backlog and it’s gone missing in action. I don’t want a refund, I want my item that I spent months trying to locate in the US then the stress of biding for it and wining for someone to turn around and say sorry we might of lost it?

It was fast. I used MyUS more than 10 years ago and it went smoothly then. A few weeks ago I used them again and it went smooth. UPS delivered item from Amazon. They had it on the system within 24h. I had to pay for a Lithium ion battery sticker, added better packaging and prepaid duties and went with FedEx priority (economy was $4 cheaper). They shipped it out within 24 hours of my shipping request.

It's pretty smooth. It's almost as smooth as Buyee.Jp/Tenso which is also very fast with shipping and additional packing. Tenso is a Japanese service, so if you ever order from there Yahoo Auctions/Shopping/Rakuten or Rakuten Marketplace they're pretty fast, and no consumption tax.

Aramex is slower BUT it's cheaper. MyUS is a more premium experience. But you don't pay US sales tax. And that means you pay less duty/VAT as well because otherwise you pay duty/vat on the US GST.

Are you using the forwarders from Amazon purchases that don’t ship here?
How does it compare with Amazons direct international shipping service?

I used MyUs for items which did not ship to SA.
For items which ship Amazon to SA via Aramex, Aramex cheapest option is a no brainer.

If item does not arrive on time, Amazon will refund you everything. I had an Aramex item stuck in customs for a while and Amazon refunded me. The item never arrived.

You don't have to deal with Aramex at all. Just deal with the Amazon support through the chat.

It's also cheaper.

When it comes to items which don't ship direct you can use Aramex GS or MyUS.

Aramex GS is cheaper. BUT you pay US sales tax. With MyUS you don't pay US sales tax. MyUS is faster depending on which method you use. As you don't pay US tax you also don't pay SA VAT and duties off of that US sales tax.

60% to customs on a wallet i ordered...does it sound right?
i often order IT equipment , drones, never in my life i had to pay so much customs....do i have the option to return it or will they threaten me with holding fees (do they actually do it)?

You have pay then dispute it, otherwise you just cause more delays

A wallet is something that can be manufactured in SA. So customs will try and protect the local economy on them. So thats why there is such a huge customs % on it. Don't forget, it may be as high as 50% or more then you still need to add VAT.

Most electronics is not manufactured locally at all, so mostly only pay VAT on those item.

Going try nybox buy for me service, its impossible to get stuff from target, they dont ship freight forwaders :(

Hey all. I was wondering if you could help me understand the costs involved and kind of pre-estimate/calculate costs(vat/customs/duties etc) of ordering a Sennheiser 58X heaphone from drop using Aramex Global Shopper(standard) to SA. As of right now the headphone is at R2390. its all so confusing to me XD

Thanks in advance!

Check weight on website it will give you esitmate on shipping charges

Then add 15% VAT.
Also add about 9% for new york sales tax in USA. This will apply on check out when you purchase it

Anyone knows if it's possible to change the address to another province?
I tried to do it a while ago and i wasn't very successful (but they did add a collect option).

I was able to change mine via the AGS app, adding a new address/province and making it the primary address. Then deleted the old address.

Maybe they've changed it now, but I see the function is still available on the app.

If a parcel is already in transit, it may still be an issue though.

Remember they had a long weekend and it's black Friday/cyber Monday. So maybe they're short of staff. So give it another day or two.

I know Japan can take as long as two weeks.
Sorry to bring this back - but ive used the Japan address for the first time and its been three days without being scanned into my account.

How long did your last one take? Two weeks?

My challenge is that its a small but very high value item. Ive got the POD that shows everything correct and the persons name who signed for it at the location.

Aramex is telling me that it can be now up to 96 hours (3 to 4 working days) for it show. Nerve-wracking to say the least.

Search the original tracking code on the AGS website. See if that picks up. Might be they received but not assigned to your account for whatever reason. They always blame me for not adding my personal code in the address but sometimes they just dont read.
