I had similar about a month ago, but it sorted itself out.
Also on Vuma, but with VOX.
 
it seems dead for me right now from a coffee shop hotspot. aramex opens but not ags

Just tried it, logged in and opens fine my side, no issues today. What browser are you using, as they stopped support for old browsers.
Have you tried an incognito or private tab?

Edit: also try clearing the AGS cookies, sometimes helps with this site.
 
Whats the latest with low value shipments, are customs still supposed to be doing these free of charge?
Had a UPS shipment valued at 20$, R381, VAT comes to R63, but UPS want to charge R408 including their ridiculous fees!

I thought it was anything below R500... not sure what is cracking with you there. You are at the wims of the individual customs agent who is on duty that day I suppose.

UPS is one of the worst for disbursement fees. I think Aramex and DHL are the better options.

The best is Amazon or Ebay global shipping where the fees are relatively low, because Ebay and Amazon force couriers to pass savings onto their customers and courier companies are greedy for business.

I found it sometimes opens and other times does not on the same browser. It's a terrible website.
 
So got this email saying my package is on hold for 21 days.
Any reason why ?

DHL : Took 4 days from China to Johannesburg. 1 day to clear customs, 1 day to deliver.
Aramex: Took 5 days from China to Johannesburg. 3 days it sat at customs with no emails and they told me no invoice for payment yet then they sent me an invoice finally.
8 days later, it cleared customs. They kept blaming OR Tambo Customs.. (weird no one else does..)
2 days later they deliver it.

DHL: 6 days to door
Aramex: 18 days to door.

Will next touch Aramex again.

Does DhL offer forwarding like ags
 
Anyone know how to handle samples, I'm importing samples (purchase value R2500) from China and would like to bring them in a zero value as there is no commercial value. Do i create my own invoices for AGS with a value for customs purposes or USD10?

You get what you pay for. Aramex is decent in that at least you get your item and it's significantly cheaper at times than DHL or Fedex. DHL can be dumb too, for example I imported some car parts from Amazon.de and they still demanded a local ID number even though I gave my importer's code on Amazon.
At the end of the day if you don't need the item ASAP, go with Aramex.
I've used MyUS and they have decent rates from the US, but not as good as Amazon com/uk/de/jp/fr etc

Only to the middle east. And DHL would be expensive and suck balls. It's better to use MyUS, Post Box courier, Aramex, etc. Buyee is good for Japanese purchases, with free 30 days of storage for consolidation.
 
So there is a 25$ off coupon on aliexpress but looks like it only works for shipping to the USA.
So I thought let me get the item to the US, and AGS as it here...
and then I was "hit" by a 15$ tax fees to the US that ruined my plan...
now I can't decide if it's still worth it...I suppose there is no way for me to get rid of this tax?
If I choose another supplier it won't make a difference?

Weird, Americans don't pay tax on $25 of imports. But the courier will probably charge you.

Best is to find a different supplier of what you need.
 
I see AramexGS has become quite expensive. More than R800 to ship a 1.5kg item from Tokyo. That's before any taxes and fees.
