Can get DHL for less but I realised now that maybe the idiot supplier used an extra large box making up the volumetric weight to be too big. Amazon would have been even less than that though, also via DHL.
Ok, I got the idea the item value was $25. Not a good idea to import via other countries. You can do this in EU, for example for countries AGS does not have presence in Europe for, I can ship to say Aramex Germany and have the item shipped out that way. But that's in the EU/EEA zone where there is no tax between countries.
There is currently a $25 coupon off over $150 (but only US orders ), but anyways I placed another order for now for about 160,got my $25 off and tax was about 9 so still got $16 off ....for the 250 i will wait for singles day for maybe another discount.

So got this email saying my package is on hold for 21 days.
Any reason why ?

I’ve sent emails and someone replies that they will check and revert but no further feedback given.

In your "my packages" list at the bottom of that particular "shipment no" is a contact support link that works, once they reply you can bounce normal mail back & forth.
"For inquiries about this shipment click here to submit a customer care request or contact your local office."

What is the item?
Assembled model from a video game.
Aramex declared it as a toy based on the included invoice and box. The monetary value is 100%. It is a toy. Could that be it? I also had my ID and not importer's code in the settings. Maybe that's it? Will call tomorrow or Monday.

No idea either. Never ever had this happen. Maybe this is an indication of further worsening and corruption of South Africa. Who knows.

Does anyone have experience importing second hand clothing from eBay? My youngest is nuts for thrifting and there are several items she found that she wants to bid on. I'd like to know how I can minimise the tax/duties etc. on the Aramex end given that these are secondhand goods.
Apologies if this has been covered on the past.

Clothing gets taxed to the max. Expect to pay high amounts on these, anything from 50 to 100% tax before import duties which is a fixed cost.
Clothing is one of those categories, they want you to rather support local manufacturers.

Be careful, strictly speaking for second hand, you need an import permit, not sure if they check as have imported 2nd hand Ebay and Japanese Yahoo auction goods before
