Thanks for this info!! Saved me and I managed to get my parcel delivered!!

Ok, so I have successfully had the wildly erroneous duties recalculated! Aramex responded via email with the breakdown and indicated that a payment request would be sent for the recalculated charges. The requests arrived same day. One of the shipments duties was halved!

Satisfied with this although my daughter is now learning how to work with razor-thin profit margins. Good stuff.

She maintains that her eye for vintage clothing and her ability to read trends will get her out of the red. Let's see, I scoffed when she told me she would be able to get buyers at all, then I learned she has over five thousand followers on Instagram with some people interested in several items already so I've learned to watch and wait with my mouth shut.

Thanks to all for the help!

Ok....i think it's related to this:
So due to some confusion and lies from a shop at aliexpress....
I am now waiting for the arrivle of 2 lipo batteries to my ASG USA address.
Does anyone know what will happen?are they just going to send them back?

(The ETA for this was December, so didn't expect it so quickly, have a few parcels coming).

Ok so the batteries was huge mistake and will have to be sent back.
But I also ordered a drone that got confiscated and check the list it's one of the first items!!!
any idea why?
I don't care about the batteries but was looking forward to the drone....and I can't see why it''s such a high risk item, is it worth even having that discussion with them?

Unfortunately I was lied to by an aliexpress shop. so the batteries can be returned I don't need them and even if destroyed it wont be a big deal
I am just annoyed about the drone.

Why didn't you just let it come in via SAPO? They don't check jack s....t - although it could take a few months.

I had a us only coupon. But yes I'll probably get it again via Sapo /buffelo

By the way drones are definitely allowed, so they can check.

I ordered a few drones over the years including 1 last month
Not sure why it's forbidden with Aramex

I have toyed with the idea of importing a cheap used AMD 2xxx/3xxx/4xxx laptop from eBay in the USA via Ship7 however their cheapest way into SA is Aramex and I was worried about the very same thing - the batteries.

Apparently shipping integrated batteries is fine, standalone batteries not fine. ie laptop with battery fitted - yay but loose replacement battery for the same laptop - nay

Exactly that

I've got a weird issue recently where I'm unable to access the Aramex Global Shopper website unless I VPN in. Has anyone experienced this, or know what could be causing it? I've tried chaning my DNS service provider, different browsers, different machines - nothing. Even if I simply use VPN and connect to another ZA address, same issue - it's happy for me to connect as long as it's via VPN, but otherwise it just times out.

EDIT: Traceroute also seems to find the site fine without VPN, pinging works fine.

Same issues experienced here, occurring with multiple isps, seems like their website issue

I attempted to sign up for an account on Amarex global shopper... But I only get passed the address section n it keeps saying unexpected error... Any idea what to do?

I also made the mistake of ordering from ali to aramex instead of just waiting for SAPO.
My item is currently on hold by US customs.

Any idea what does this mean?
JNH Hub, South Africa 11/14/2023 06:51 Confiscated by Customs Authorities
Johannesburg Express Head Office, South Africa 11/14/2023 05:54 Out for Delivery

I am imagining them loading it on the track while customs are chasing them and asking them to stop lol

Customs confiscated is just an error, many people have that same error.
