Aramex global shopper

This thread is making me anxious :laugh:. I ordered an Apple Watch band for $99, and it pretty much weights nothing at 0.2kg. I’m anticipating ~40% tax for that like I do for all my international purchases. For some reason though, Aramex has my parcel value listed as $25. It’s currently in the “Clearance Process” in Sandton.

Relax - they go with the attached invoice or CN22 if present. You will get an email with payment instructions shortly.

Aramex says they only received the stuff they sent through, the seller on Aliexpress says they shipped out everything. So I paid R1100 to end up with stuff that I could buy in RSA for R150.

Just a note on Aramex and their support. When I'm trying to view the attached PDF's of the photos of my package it results in a PDF of 0 bytes. When I asked support to send me the photos so I can have a look, they sent through a chopped off email containing base64 encoded text. No image attachments.
Unfortunately the base64 string is incomplete so I couldn't get the image out of it.

Anybody else recently tried viewing their images of their orders?

I had this error too. When I paid the duty to Aramex it disappeared. It's bollocks.

Don't worry, your Coke shipment should be safely on its way.

I have used AGS a lot, but never for something really big.

Does anyone know what size limits there are? I searched but can't find an answer.

I want to buy something in Germany that weighs about 2kg but comes in a box that is about 1.5m long.
 
I think this was my last order from them.
Service is just not good and it's sometimes works out very expensive.

Earlier this week they sent me this email :
Please see below reason why shipment we will not moved -

WITHOUT attachment.

I questioned it, and 2 days later I got exactly the same email with no attachment ....
 
How is the current shipping times for the US guys? Would like to buy some glasses and while other forwarders are quicker they are much pricier.
 
As a counter to a lot of people in this thread, I've used AGS for years and have never had any major issues. Granted I didn't import anything during the dark times of COVID.

Mostly use them for stuff from eBay, with a few other stores in between. Usually lightweight items, so in general I have no complaints.

Right now it's busy season so it might take longer than usual. Looking through some of my recent shipments, most are at my front door within 7 to 10 days of arriving at the US Aramex facility.

No, but I have used Ship7 which operates the same.

Did you by any chance make use of a tax free option? Whenever I buy in the USA I do that, it means the stuff is sent to a warehouse in Delaware, a state where they do not charge tax on used ebay purchases, then once a week they move stuff to their NY warehouse from where Aramex collects it and delivers it. I have found this to be more expensive that Aramex Global Shopper for single/small items but a very nice saving if you are buying multiple items.

Aramex can take a bit. It is over the busy season. What shipping option did you take because you can query if they're over their days.

last week thursday the package was handed over to MyUS from FedEx

It will go to Vanderbijlpark first and then ship to your place a few days later.
Nothing you can do but wait unless you want to stand in the sun and try to collect the shipment yourself
 
Anyone having problems uploading the invoice to AGS account ?
I keep getting "An error occurred" on the website when trying to upload

Do they just want a specific format/File type ?

Been trying for days
They sent a email saying they need the invoice now and to reply to the email with it, but the email is from a "No Reply" address and just bounces back

Having the same issue.

I swear for such a big company, these guys have the most broken website I've ever seen. It complains about every major browser and regularly breaks basic functionality.
 
What I found sad about aramex is that is quicker to get parcel from usa to sa, then get from jhb customs to cpt lol

Dhl luckily comes straight to cpt.

Why as of late I prefer MyUS even though a little pricier. In December you should expect either not to get your package or go wait in the looooong line at their hub to try collect your stuff in person.
