Aramex global shopper

I have never received a reply when submitting a support request on the Website. Does this actually work?
I did get an email confirming the my support request.
It does work. I used it a couple of times. But they do tend to just close them if you don't give enough information in the request. Maybe they try to only answer or do something if they know exactly what you want from the request.

I guess this can be expected when an international service offerered by a huge company only has one person in the entire country assigned to customer care. At least one of my 3 emails were answered, but none of the questions I asked were addressed.

Whereas I have the exact opposite. I have a parcel sat in the VC cage in JHB that should not exist. Aramex delivered a parcel I ordered today, yet according to them there is another parcel from the same supplier in JHB. They are even moving it around, so there must be something. Maybe my supplier sent two parcels by mistake? I should be so lucky, but just on the off-chance, I paid for it...

I did get two parcels from the same supplier. Even the USPS tracking number from Ohio to NY is the same on both boxes. Nice early Christmas present of an extra ADSL modem. I'm sure as hell not gonna send the extra one back as it cost me R373 in courier costs.

My parcel has just left New York. I'm assuming I should wait until the rest of the fees appear before I make payment to Aramex, right?

Anybody know of some one at aramex that can actually help, my package is on hold for the last 3 days according to the tracking system requesting an invoice and i already uploaded that 3 days ago.

This Aramex Global Shopper service is just as incompetent as the Post Office. I have the same problem as you. I had 2 parcels arrive at Aramex in New York on 7 December. I uploaded invoices for both on the 8 December, but only one package has been sent to SA, while the other is still on hold 5 days after I uploaded the invoice!

Nobody in SA can help except Vusi, and it seems like he is too busy to help or reply to questions.

That happens at this time of the year. My parcel arrived on 1st Dec and only left NY on 5th Dec. It said received in JHB on 7 Dec.
Methinks they are flat out busy with Aramex main parcels receiving priority and them getting to the Shop and Ship parcels when they can.

Will give the NY hub a call this afternoon see they only work 9 to 5 and find out from them what the hell is going on at-least its cheap to phone threw skype.

I now have 2 open tickets on the main site, mailed Vusi and mailed the jhb hub and no response from any.

You got to be kidding - comparing AGS to the post office? At least you get things delivered to your door average 2 weeks.
You have to always believe this is a 2 week courier service and be surprised when they are faster.

I ordered 2 security cameras through the post office. They sat on them in JHB for 3 weeks and then I had to fetch from Cape Mail. At least I got them. There was one point when I thought they were totally lost and opened an eBay dispute. True story.

Things are slow as hell at the moment, taken a week from arrival at London and still isn't in SA, usually takes 2 days.

Patience is a virtue...

I agree. AGS at 2 weeks is actually amazing when you wait 2-3 months for stuff to crawl through JIMC and Cape Mail Hub with SAPO.
At the prices I pay, 2-3 weeks are 100% fine. If you really want it quicker, use a courier.

Yeah, fairly slow, but expected over this season. Looks like there's about a week of deadtime at JHB before customs clearance begins.

Dear Valued Customer,

We would like to inform you that we are currently experiencing high volumes of Customs clearance delays on all import shipments into South Africa. Generally only items that are deemed High Value, with a value of more than R500, would be affected and require formal customs clearance. However, South African Customs have the right by law to stop any shipment and request a formal clearance regardless of the value. This is a common occurrence this time of year due to the increased volume of shipments being imported into the country.

We are working tirelessly with SA Customs to resolve any stopped shipments and speed up the process of clearing these shipments. Your patience and understanding during this time is highly appreciated and we value your continued support.

Should you require assistance with any of your shipments, please contact us at [email protected].

Kind Regards,
Aramex Global Shopper Team

Didn't they apologise for the delay in a notice on the AGS page?
Yes, under My Messages - PEAK SEASON CUSTOMS CLEARANCE DELAYS.

All good and well but I've got one stuck at customs since 7th. Gave them hell yesterday. Now we have a email thread that's going nowhere.

Had two items go through without issue and one was same value. Soooo there isn't consistency here.

My (first time) experience with AGS has not been positive:
The package was delivered to their UK office on Tuesday last week and it took 3 days before it showed up on their website.
It was supposed to fly out over the weekend but got pulled from its flight on Sunday. Since then NOTHING has happened to it. I called today and was told that a ticket would be created to instruct the UK office to put it on the next flight. I was speechless: I had to call them before they would do that?!

The current state: After 10 days the package is still in the UK.

Throughout this I've been calling and emailing their SA office on a regular basis. While their staff is very friendly when you speak to them, I have not had a single call or update from them. One thing was did work very efficiently was their payment process...

Based on their current performance, I don't think I'll be using them again.

That's horrible. Why was it pulled? I only had that happen (also uk) when I ordered an iPhone. They placed back in the VC Cage for a couple more days.
Is your Aramex code clearly displayed? In my case my code wasn't.

Interesting Anecdote Time:
I ordered some audio cables from ebay months ago (free shipping from HK). Had given up on them so I was very surprised when I received a slip at work to collect it from the post office. Looking at the various stamps on the little package, after clearing customs, it took 47 days to travel from OR Tambo to Midrand, a distance of 34.5km, which works out to a speed of 732m per Day.
Interestingly, a snail (according to Google) moves at an average speed of 47m/h. Assuming a snail moves 16 hours a day (I'll give him a few hours to rest), it would cover 752m in that time. Thusly, a snail is actually faster than SAPO!
