Hahaha. With my delivery I went through every button on every page and every link on that site just to make sure I didn't miss anything. I didn't get a picture.

Fun part was that the Tracking page didn't work on their site for me - it was blank - but from the link in the email it worked.

EDIT: Yeah the part I was talking about that didn't work, was "My packages". So there might have been a pic, but I could never view it as it was always blank, and still is.

Very weird. It worked very well for me even though Amazon shipped my order in 2 separate packages and both were listed on AGS

aramex global shopper are probably the worst of all the mail forwarders - they are cheapish but you get what you pay for.

Care to elaborate?

they dont consolidate, they can take up to 3 days just to login a parcel, they ship economy - usually via Egypt, can take up to 7 days to arrive, sometimes they ask for invoice, sometimes not, clearing can take anywhere between 3 - 5 days and so on and so on. For small items, yeah they cheap. For speed, nobody beats myus and for flexibility postbox-courier or stackry, for cheap and really not in a rush, aramex

Eish that's hectic! Was just looking at some stuff on ebay. Used AGS with my 1st purchase from Amazon and they're really jacked up. Kept me updated every step of the way. Another thing I like about AGS is they post a pic of the package which just adds to the anticipation
Unless it's an item that Amazon won't ship to Sa, Amazon's base shipping is normally very reasonable, they seem to have a minimum shipping amount of around R400 and they allow a fair amount of small things to be sent together before that rate increases , the real advantage is if you need to do any returns due to defects/warranty claims they will cover the shipping.

They also ship with Aramex, 5-7days and my last order I wasn't charged import duties for some reason so those were refunded.

Pic? Really? Interesting. Never got one myself.

It depends on the parcel, but on the details page if you scroll down to the bottom where you can attach files you may end up seeing something like this:

Which was a picture of my package from NewEgg:

Something useful to know is the upload feature on the same page can be used to upload invoices for whatever you have bought. Doing this can save time on processing your packages if you have bought something that arrives without one.

This is what my tracking page looks - empty.

Try to upgrade your browser or use Firefox and see if it looks different and the tracking pages work.
If not you should email Aramex to look at your account settings.

Anybody have the issue of having to pay state tax (or something like that) when shipping from Amazon to the New York Aramax address? How do you get around that?

That's a downgrade, but I did try it anyway. Anyway, doesn't matter now, was just pointing it out.

Yeah I had to pay a few $. Doubt you can avoid it

If there's only one Aramex address to use in the US you are screwed otherwise find an address in a state that doesn't force amazon to collect the state tax at checkout. Some states expect you to pay the tax with your tax return each year, few people do though.

Looks like Aramax only has the New York address. Amazon charge the tax at checkout, so I don't see anyway of skipping it for now.

Usually a day, if it's an item that incurs customs charges it takes longer for them to load it because they need to work out in advance how much you will have to pay for customs.

Mine was just over 21 hours after arriving that I got a notification to pay. That was in Germany, though.

Sofar its 54 hours and no feedback (and I've accounted for time differences). I've emailed them so lets see what happens.

Ordered a parcel on Ebay on 6th Jan, sent from Latvia to the German AGS address (Sovereign Courier).

Parcel was sent from Germany to the UK today and has just left the UK heading for here an hour ago. I estimate delivery on Thursday.

And, as Peeryus said, there is a .jpg at the bottom of the Aramex Global Shopper page with a lekker photo of what I'm getting. :D

From Latvia? First time heard of someone buying from there. How much did it cost to get it to Germany?
