Aramex global shopper

Soooo irritated... opened an account, entered the promo code.. and the amount changed from usd45 to usd5 entered credit card details instead of paypal, then click pay.....next page says... Payment USD45 received...

Broke my golden rule....always use payment gateway..

Emailed the contact center lets see what happens...
I had a similar thing happen but I noticed before I hit pay and went back and re-entered the $5 code. They do have some money back guarantee for 6 months or so if you not impressed with the service. They'll make you jump through hoops though, good luck.

Great news...... Without any fuss and only one mail Aramex, have said they will credit...!

That's really good of them, suppose they are on a drive for more clients anyway and having a disgruntled one would be pointless.

Having fun here. I have two cases for my Samsung Tab S2 heading from Florida and California to Aramex Springfield Gardens, NY .
I have just had a Sony USB cable from Latvia via Germany and now I have just ordered a digitizer for my poor broken Tab 4 from China to Aramex Singapore (as the Chinese supplier would not deliver to Beijing or HK).
All low value items, so there shouldn't be any duty to pay.

Just a quick one.
What in terms of shipping and customs, what can I expect to pay for an item that costs
Its 13.8 kg (Approx)

Edit : Costs too much.nvm

Edit. Looks like in Africa they only support South Africa, Botswana and Kenya.

The reason for that is because their service is supposed to be called Shop and Ship, but that name is taken so Aramex had to choose a different name for South Africa. However despite the name being AGS you can still use the Shop and Ship mobile app to keep track of your AGS shipments. ;)

Newegg seems awesome have gazed longingly at some of their deals in the past.

They are! Aside from their prices they are damn fast! When I asked a friend of mine to help me acquire something last year he sent me the updates he received for my order and literally five minutes after placing and paying for it he received this update:

Status: Packaging - Your payment has been successfully processed and has passed Order Verification. Products are being collected in the warehouse and boxed for shipment or pick up. Please note that you may no longer make changes to your order.
No Memo in SO#xxxxxxxxxx

I was like :wtf: at their efficiency and all I can say is I really hope that my NY AGS address will soon show up as a verified address on PayPal because then I should be able to purchase directly from NewEgg without needing to rely on my friend to do it for me. :) I also hope the Rand regains some strength because the current exchange rate has forced me to say no to a lot of things lately. :(

Does Newegg pickup your CC is south African and block you checking out?

Didn't think of PayPal, how do you add an Aramex address to your account?
Theoretically you'd need to add Aramex verified addresses for all the locations you want to order from?

Unfortunately NewEgg like a lot of US only stores block you at checkout and if you try using PayPal with an unverified address they stop you there as well. The only way I was able to buy something from NewEgg and have it delivered to my AGS address was to transfer money to a friend in the US and have him buy it for me using an actual US credit card.

You can't add an AGS address directly to your profile, but you can specify it as an alternative shipping addresses through the merchant when you checkout and that gets passed to PayPal. I'm hoping that with enough use it will become verified and then hopefully I will be able to use it with NewEgg. :D

If you choose an Aramex shipping address when you checkout it becomes a verfied address.
I have verified addresses in the USA, Germany and now Singapore. :)
In fact, it was PayPal that put me on to AGS in the first place so they know the addresses belong to Aramex.

I ordered a HDD from Germany last week, my package has been sitting in customs since the 31st and I only got a notification from Aramex requesting additional documentation yesterday. The email contained a link to a working tracking page on their site which is not the same as the one on the user profile page which is blank. Not impressed at all

Just sad that AramexGlobalShopper doesn't ship any electronics with batteries any more because of the new international Lithium-Ion battery laws that kicked in from March 2016.
That includes phones, tablets, flash lights, power banks, laptops, remotes, basically any USB gadget that charges with a USB cable.

TNT is one of a few companies that can import battery products but then hit you with a R430 admin fee.

****, does this include LiPo4s batteries?

Want to ship a DJI drone at the end of April.

With Aramex not allowed, your parcel will be detained and you will have to pay a return to seller shipping fee.

Better read if it's allowed with other shipping companies. Some equipment with built-in batteries that are not over a certain weight or charge state and in fireproof packaging with new safety documentation is still allowed on cargo aircraft but not passenger aircraft. But every airline impose their own restrictions now. Aramex has a full ban on any battery product and other shipping companies even have a surcharge fee if there are any batteries in your package.

Whaaaaaat? So how do you import any gadget, most of which have batteries?

What is the situation with Amazon, they use Aramex to deliver their Sa orders?

If you have an FNB account you can get a free ASG life membership, think thats what is in the carbonite link above.

I have mailed Aramex - no response, what a surprise. Spoke to guys from MyUS as well and here is there comments:

"We would not be able to export loose batteries to South Africa, but we can export lithium-ion batteries so long as they are in the same package as the equipment or installed in the equipment."

DJI ships the battery for the drones preinstalled so that is fine, Buy an extra battery and that will be inside same box - also alright for MyUS.

Now we wait for Aramex to respond.

Where is your reference that Aramex has banned all electronic shipments containing Li Ion batteries?
The links you provided indicate shipment of li ion batteries by themselves are restricted, but not goods containing the batteries or goods accompanied by the batteries.

ok so they recently banned batteries on aircrafts (yada, yada, exceptions...)

what implication does that have for travellers?

most people travel with their mobile phones, and many carry either/both tablet and/or laptop.

how would that effect those persons?
