Aramex global shopper

Same thing on mine - complained about it a few days back on this thread. 13th I uploaded invoce, next event was the 17th.

Yep, I almost suspect that complaining will not help. I do not think they have the capacity to cater for this big venture they undertook.

Just had a call from AGS asking why I haven't used their services for last 6 months or so , and politely told them why, then they said they will give me a 15% discount off next shipments and I said even if you gave me a 100% I wouldn't ship with them, so the dude laughed and we said our goodbyes...

Whereas I use them all the time and have never had any real hassles, apart from being slow this side. I even find the customs duty levied is lower than importing the same item via EMS.

oh, any issues I have had they have sorted out, my problem is I don't do slow well.

I ordered a package via Aramex which has been in customs since 7 Feb, everytime I ask for an update I simply get told there is a backlog at customs. Is it unreasonable to expect things to have been handled by now? I doubt I will ever be using Aramex if this is how slow things are via them..

Customs are SARS, which is government and nothing to do with Aramex. As it is, your parcel should be moving soon as 3 days is the average wait.

I agree 3 days should be the average, mine has been 1 month and 3 days now. I would guess courier companies must be able to put in a request or something if there is no movement for over a month on the clearance?

Oh, sorry! I haven't got my glasses at work, so was peering myopically at the screen and totally misread that.
Contact Olivia and query. Sounds like your parcel has been lost and they are making excuses.

Hopefully you have AGS protect enabled:

No worries, I figured you simply misread it. I did contact Olivia 9 days ago and received the same response. I honestly do not know what else to do, sent another email now to her and the person handling my shipment..

Phone them and ask if you can claim for a lost parcel. That should get some sort of reaction. Phone 0114573000

Ordered some toys. Came in under 4kg. Damn shipping is killing me

Any thoughts here on using myUS or other Aramex competitors?

Ha! Thank you!

Just signed up for their free shipping option. Will test them out on my next US purchase. Will upgrade my account if the first package is done flawlessly and within their provided time-frames. I really do not mind paying $20 or $30 extra for shipping, but then I need my package delivered in 2-5 days as stated.

Myus and Dhl are phenomenally fast, though myus do have other issues, but speedwise, if a parcel leaves say Monday and you are in Jhb I usually receive it Wednesday/Thursday at the latest. Just watch out for their compliance issues, somethings are just stupid (for eg a watch with mother of pearl they charge $150 handling fee or something stupid like that).
If you are considering a few parcels they work out cheaper than Aramex and if you ship for a while you will get additional discounts off their advertised rates.
