Arcade Game Project

I'm looking for full romsets for NES, SNES, Megadrive, N64 etc. If anyone wants to swop for the full sets of Daphne and Mame, PM me. :)

I see everyone looking for roms for mame. I have a 15 DVD disc set CHD's and roms all there. i have quite a complete romset for NES and GBA and about 700 megadrive games. Ive started on the sega cd romset.

Another guy with the "full set", missing 50GB's. :D

The full set is 117GB. and that's without the EmuVideos, which is another 15GB or something.

Theyre basically short videoclips of the game so that you can preview it in a front end like Hyperspin or Maximus arcade

I see well in that case i dont have any EmuVideos only gameson the discs. As far as i can tell these are mostly complete as I have yet to look for a game i cant find on the discs.

What cabinet should I build next?

I'm keen to build a full size one. I want to make the a place for the keyboard and mouse to live, maybe a slide out panel or something under the control panel.
I also want to add two pinball buttons on the side of the machine. This time I want to do the whole hog with the ultralux buttons and the driver board.
I'm also thinking of a way to make the control panel interchangeable with others.. So I can have a classic one, a steering wheel, and maybe later a setup with some light guns...

I like the way that this machine is being put together:

I think make a Normal Arcade unit, with two buttons next to the side of the control panel for pinball, and light-guns too, which can rest on the sides of the unit

......but don't make a steering wheel that is interchangeable - that type of setup one can either pull off 100%, or fail at miserably. (and there is a fine line between them too)

Get a good design going first, before you jump into that.....

otherwise - if you really DO want that
- Make the control panel big enough, and leave space in the middle between the 2 player's buttons.
- Build an area on the bottom centre of the control area, with a "clip-on" mechanism or something where you can secure the steering wheel when you need it
- Also have a place where you can plug it in. The cable could be made very short too, where it plugs in, and then you won't have to see it or let it get in the way.

I also want to add two pinball buttons on the side of the machine.

If you're into pinball machines, rather do a pinball cabinet using visual pinball. Like this one. You'll just need a couple of lcd's. That one is using a 46", 30" and 19". :)

I'm thinking of doing a racing cab next.

is that a friggen screen in there? if it really is then OMG that looks flippen awesome!

Yup, and you can also play all the pinball games with visual pinball. It's like the Mame for pinball machines.

My full size arcade is slowly taking shape - check out my blog below.

What did you guys use to cut out the slots for the t-molding. You need a 1/16" slot cutting routing bit which I can't seem to find anywhere! :)

I think your site is really cool, and I think it could become quite something if you continue after building this one and move onto a racing cabinet and things...anyway great work so far and its looking damn good :D
