Are gaming chairs comfortable?

I'm a tall guy (around 1.9m) and have problems with the usual office chairs as I sit for long periods in front of the PC. I'm looking for a comfortable chair and saw an ad which led me to this page. My budget is around R5000 (but I'll go until R6000 as that is the cheapest chair on the page). Are those chairs comfortable for long hours or am I better off looking around for an "ergonomic" chair? Or is the bucket seat design more for cosmetics (I am not a gamer).
 
Speak to a chiro and get a proper chair for your shape and size (I know a chiro if you need one in the Sandton/kyalami area)

Imo there's three things you never skimp on :

Video card, car maintenance and chair :)
 
Oh and tbh my "gaming" chair isn't more or less comfortable than my other tall back office chair. Much the same really

I agree with everything you are saying. And I may need to speak to a chiro as I spend long periods front of a PC and I'm starting to feel it.
 
I've never owned a gaming chair, but my opinion is that a gaming chair is to a normal chair the same way a wedding cake is to a normal cake: it's the same thing for twice the price. It's probably not bad quality, but you can quite possibly get the same for much cheaper.

I'm 1.95m, and finding a comfortable chair is a problem. In actual fact, once you find the right chair, you'll notice the average table is too low as well. I would go with the "ask the chiro" (or physiotherapist) where to get a proper chair.

I suffer from migraines, and in desperation went to the headache clinic. It cost me a fortune and everything they suggested didn't make any difference, but at least I managed to get the following from them:

Now you need to have something to lift your monitor as well. The best thing that I have seen, is to have an arm that attaches to your table and is adjustable in every dimension.

The point is, you need a good adjustable chair that caters for your height, a table not built by midgets, and an arm to mount your screen on (almost half the price of the chair itself). I currently have my monitor on some boxes to lift it, but it is not good enough.
 
a gaming chair is like turbo petrol or deep bass on a cellphone speaker
 
I bought myself a decent ergo chair. I suffer from sever stomach issues and without the right chair my ribs dig into my gutts and it hurts like hell. Cost me around R9k. Worth every freaking penny.
 
I noticed now that I do not use my chair's armrests. I slide them under the table and have my arms resting on the table. Implying that my laptop is pushed quite far back on the desk.

Where do the rest of you put your arms when working on a pc?

My arm rests line up to the desk and it's the best option I found.

Under or over doesn't work height wise.

It's an expensive chair and they don't accept returns unless the product is damaged which really made me nervous but it's incredibly comfortable even after marathon gaming sessions. I've had the chair for about a year now and it still looks and feels brand new.

Try to find one of the options here.

I recommended the chair to all my friends and so far 4 of them have bought it and they all love it as well. Maybe you can get a "regular office chair" to match the Titan for less money but I wouldn't know where to start looking. All I know is I will never buy another chair in my life.

A good quality office chair will be better, IMO. It's a generalization, but gaming chairs are more about looks than build.
