Downstream attenuation seems a little high but overall it looks decent to me.

SNR seems low?Attenuation probably high cause of the distance to the exchange ..
SNR: --->
6dB or below is very bad and will experience no synch or intermittent synch problems
7dB-10dB is fair but does not leave much room for variances in conditions
11dB-20dB is good with little or no sync problems
20dB-28dB is excellent
29dB or above is outstanding

Looking at these it seems the SNR isn't lekker, does the home phone make a noise when you pick it up?

Downstream maximum line rate (kbit/s) 26004 ,lekker 20mb vdsl ..Nah i'd say it looks all good!Probably bit low cause of the download speed at 22000.Telkom's system should get your line in order soon when it kicks in after 2-3 days. But i'd only get worried if the line keeps dropping ...But if it's all stable then no probs and happy downloading and streaming :)

Adsl router i think go up to 12mbps,vdsl routers 40mbps ,i think. So obvious a VDSL router would work for a vdsl line/fiber line.If you have a adsl router you will have to get a vdsl router capable of doing those speeds.Adsl router will only bottleneck the connection

Ok so so if your router is an ADSL router only, then changing it at the exchange can't change the routers hardware to be VDSL.You'd need a VDSL router to do this and be capable of giving you what you wanted. If you say Telkom white router i'm assuming it's the normal ADSL router so no that won't work

So Vdsl line=VDSL router needed
Adsl line=Adsl router needed

I'm guessing you're not tech savvy with routers ?Hmmmm So what i meant was to log into the router and get the DSL information like,Attainable rate,SNR ,Attenuation ...

He did post it. Look more up.

@Flame. Your line is set to ADSL_2plus. So I am assuming you are using an ADSL Router. You need to get a Router that supports VDSL. If you received it from Telkom with the new install, it most probably does support VDSL and telkom just needs to change the port to VDSL.

I had the same issue a while back, but I went a bought a "VDSL" router, but when Telkom changed the port, I had no internet. Turned out that the "VDSL" Router didn't support PPPoE over VDSL.

Sorry, I have limited knowledge, but this is the best I can offer. :)

The one I bought was also the huawei. Luckily they refunded me. Bought the R899 one, but it was another model back then.

Edit: Sorry, not sure if you can buy one on telkom account.
