To those saying this will do nothing, Please watch Ukraine: Winter on Fire/, in what ended in the forced removal [and flight out of the country] of the president, started as a peaceful protest of about 50 - 100 people. The rest as they say is history...

The synopsis doesn't say much. What's the ending .... started peaceful and ended with president running away?

I don't join rabble rousing marches.
I may be tempted if it was an orderly business and safe.

But if someone wants to start a "Virtual March Support" petition, I will sign it before the electrons all reach my PC.

Although I competent agree with you I keep asking myself if there is a better way to hit them hard.

Like what if everyone stopped paying their DSTV, Rates & Taxes, Telkom and other bills for a month in protest.

Would that not make for a much bigger impact than protesting?

Tax revolt would hurt them very hard!

Didn't you see the replies in the other threads.
It is to protect the monopoly whites have on the economy.
Because we didn't march to demand land appropriation
Because we didn't burn the universities for free education.
Because we didn't burn the university to have a statue removed
When we didn't see the point of the girl's hair.
The list goes on and on.

There was a whole list of things why this is only a white thing. We are racist hypocrites because we only march when it hurts our pockets.

People do not understand that it is ok to disagree about things but we need to stand united against the big stuff we agree on.
I still would not burn a uni for free education.
But we agree that Zuma is a crook and should be sent to jail. With never ever seeing any benifits.

But no. Rather let Zuma loot than join a whitey march. Started by Pravin ...

Yes, I did see that. Also got told by a guy who works here (happens to be black) that they'll march sometime next week :(

I really, truly, truly, truly don't get it that Zuma has managed to cause even more division than was thought possible.

"Nothing will change so I won't march."

Evil men get away with murder because good people sit back and do nothing.

Yes I am protesting so are all my clients.

Can't afford taking a day off, if it really could make a difference I would have considered it but this is just farting into the wind. Nothing we as a country do will get rid of this parasite.

With that attitude, we won't get anywhere.

Please tell me that you are not using Ukraine as an example of how to bring about change through mass protests?
You do know what hell they have been through and what Hell that protest sparked?
And they are still not out of the woods...

it IS *AN* example of mass protest working. Nobody ever said it would be pretty or easy. And yes, I'm well aware of what their situation was and now is. I'm just saying that the ENTIRE series of events kicked off because of that protest of about a 100 people, so to say 'protesting won't help' is B/S.

Hmm, not sure it is worth it then... Are Syria, Libya and Ukraine all better off today?

moving the goal posts here buddy. I was only discussing protesting action.

By all means, please lay down your bullet point strategy to peacefully, amicably and respectfully improve our situation

You guys literally just have to walk out the office and down a street for a bit, even if its just showing face for 15mins - if it gets unruly you can leave immediately..

The apathy of just doing nothing and the excuses are really surprising to see in this thread..

Not really, we've seen the same sort of attitude when it comes to voting. Bitch and moan about things online, but sit and do nothing when an opportunity presents itself...
