Are you preparing for a comming genocide?

If you are concerned about a genocide and can't leave the country come to Cape Town, nice views, good schools, and we "mostly" get along :)
I would sell up and move down, there are problems though: Show me a job in Cape Town that pays what I earn in JHB... I've jobhunted many times in CPT, I am either not considered because of what I earn, or the offer is like 1/2 of what I am getting now!

Some things are more important than money. I grew up in Jhb and now live in CT. I could earn more in Jhb but I prefer life in CT, the extra money is not worth the change in lifestyle.

In answer to the OP's post, im gone already. Just waiting on my wife to join me. Waiting on Spousal visa etc...

The tipping point for me was when I stepped back and truly looked at everything around me. Seeing contempt in other peoples' eyes just because I have a nice watch on. Having hawkers stare into my car through the window, assessing whether I am a good target for future smash and grabs or hijackings. Catching myself looking over my shoulder all the time, checking to see who the footsteps belong to and how intently they are following me. There are many other things, but those situations describe life in SA all the time.
It took me a long time to step back and realize that this was the life I was living. Its not about paranoia, or genocide. Its simply about quality of life. I realized that the quality of my own life was not at the level that I wanted it to be, and looking to the future, it never would be. Life is getting harder and harder in SA, too many people stubbornly defend the country out of some missplaced sense of loyalty or pride. People need to realize that life is going downhill there, downhill does not mean that genocide is at the bottom mind you. Just that life is getting more and more difficult, and less manageable, regardless of race.

Everyone has a different breaking point, some are pushed over the edge by a hijacking, murder, robbery, etc.... I just feel sad for the people that wait until they are slapped across the face with a reality check like that. Some people may be pushed over the edge when they look at starting a family and plan to the future, as I was. A major factor for me was looking at the quality of education that my child/ren would get. Also the chances of them being able to succeed in an AA driven society. I simply realized that I could not put my kids through that if I could help it.

My only hope is that people in SA are not holding on for the wrong reasons. Because if you are, the chances are high that you will find yourself or your loved ones on the wrong end of a violent crime, before you realize your mistake. And it will haunt you for the rest of your life.

Genocide Watch:

June 21 2011 – by Adriana Stuijt - Dr Gregory Stanton of GenocideWatch.org wrote me today that his organisation is upgrading South Africa to Stage 6 of genocide – when death lists are drawn up, propaganda targetting the target-groups distributed, groups are formed, attacks are starting to culminate in a full-out Genocide, and target groups forced into camps or marginal land sites . (Helpende Hand can tell you exactly where those camps are)… Stage 8 is denial of the genocide.

Stanton writes “Julius Malema must be removed as leader of the ANC youth league. He is a violent Marxist-racist. Just like Winnie Mandela. Genocide Watch wll upgrade South Africa to Stage 6 in the next week’.

This statement will cause k@k again

Danger pay is not for everyone.

I would move to the Cape, strength in numbers before I head for greener pastures.
The thing is we can still turn this thing around but we need people to realize that JM's way will not get you anything.
that way has never worked in any country and has always burnt that country to the ground, you would think people would learn from Zim but they seem to think here in SA where every country has failed - we can do better - Insanity.

Come to CT. Its great here. You won't earn as much true, furthermore if I was offered a job in jburg for double I would not take it.

Cape Town is the last stand, after this its the sea and beyond the sea......

This country is founded on very unstable foundations, Malema is starting to crack them even further. We are a society mostly divided racially, most white people are well off and most black people are poor. Most white people are educated and live in suburbs while most blacks live in rural areas and have little education. Most white people own most of SA's land while the black majority own little. We can argue that the ANC is at fault, argue that blacks are lazy and whites are innovative and hard working. The fact of the matter is that it is very true that SA is a divided racially. And it is this that Malema uses to built up his profile and influence people. The staus quo can't go on. A country won't last if the minority have the economy while the majority don't. We will heard for a disaster if nothing changes. I'm not saying nationalize mines, I'm just saying that people on the ground have had enough with their economic conditions. It didn't start with Julius, it started with service delivery protests. Malema is putting himself out there as the voice of the poor and he is succeeding. I don't think there will be a genocide. I do think that Malema will be ANC president by 2017 and SA president by 2019. When that happens we will all be in trouble. The poor will always suffer.

Yip, I am preparing! It's gonna be a great time to make money, lots of opportunities.

How are you planning to make money from it? I'm planning to make money out of this country and its economy going down by buying shares in the stock market and going short. I'll make lots of money then, but then will lose it again because the currency will be very low and I won't be able to buy dollars so I can get out of here. :( Zimbabwe situation.

I don't believe that genocide is the great risk, but rather quality of life and livelihood.

I know two families that thought just like you, that they had their fingers on the pulse and would know the right time to leave Zimbabwe, however they lost all their life savings including their homes and pensions.
I believe that the risk is much the same in SA.

Scary, they lost all their savings and pension, eish! I guess Patrice Motsepe will lose all his shares and billionaire status once Malema becomes president. I just wonder what the maximum amount of money one can take out SA is?

I think it's 7 bar at the moment

If true then genocidewatch.org seems like it has little credibility.

Maybe the ANC keep Malema as head of the youth league because they need to put him somewhere. That's politics.

That's a lot of paranoia.

I think Malema is simply playing politics. He knows what will sell and get him support. It does not mean he necessarily has any intentions of doing any of it.

+1. He's not a stupid man.

As Stephen Friedman (political analyst) says, Malema-phobia is possibly one of the most overcooked reactions ever in SA's history.

It's interesting how people speak of a ticking time bomb, coming genocide, Zim 2.0, etc. Then when Malema brings up the exact issues that will address the problems that lead to these uprisings (i.e. the need for land and economic distribution), he is criticised.

I agree, he's no way close to being stupid. He's a very clever politician. He failed Grade 8 and Grade 9, not because he's stupid, but because he was dedicating all his time and energy on his politics. Thing with Malema is that he'll either be the greatest politician of all time in Africa or the worst.

Uhm many of the uprisings are due to people (Malema) inciting them (populace/lemmings) by telling them to take what they want from the criminal white man. Should he have his way I do wish that he visits you first.

R160k per annum, which is kind of fascist.

I'm quite sure land owners and big businesses will be visited first. Whether violent or not depends on how much longer they refuse to distribute wealth. If nationalising mines appeases pending genocide, I'm for it.
