Are you preparing for a comming genocide?

To be blunt, there are hell of a lot of poor black people and a hell of a lot of priviledged white people. We can debate and say white people are hardworking and educated and that's why they live the good life. We can blame the ANC's corruption for the poverty amongst the black population. That's all irrelevant to the poor masses. They want out of poverty and are angry at being left out in the cold by the few BEE ANC elites. So the poor will be quite happy to go from their shacks and into the suburbs and start killing "rich" people and stealing their stuff. The economy might collapse but you must remember that the only people who feel the impact of an economic collapse are well off people. Poor people won't feel the impact, so to them it will be good if rich people suffer like they are suffering.

I beg to differ. Poor people and the middle class experience economic failure the worst.

The rich usually have vast amounts of money stashed in overseas banks. Like Bob....

When the economy fails the middle class that via proxy support the poor communities fails and the poor is left with nothing. Like in zim.

Apartheid caused the black communities to be less successful then they could have been but the ANC sealed their fate

The only way to alleviate poverty is through more liberal policies and less state intervention. Imagine they privatise schooling and healthcare, it would be so good for everyone.

Education should always be the absolute priority. It is the ONLY thing that can help make everyone's life better in the future

You base this on what?

Seems like the countries that are not doing what you want are pretty well off (Scandinavia, most of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand...). If you can show us one country which has successfully implemented such a policy I would love to know so I can read up on it more.

ghoti, no country has, and that is the shame ( actually i need to check whether initial states had).

The scandinavians and those countries are not as rosy as you think. Most of them will require some bail out package because of bankrupt welfare system (some of them already have). Some of these countries do maintain a status quo but would otherwise do much better if they followed more liberal policies.

Australia now wants to ban swearing, next will be thought crimes. This is not a good path to be on. These nanny states are getting out of hand.

I got a question kinda on topic. If a genocide does happen, do you think the international community will intervene like they did in Libya or ignore us like they did in Zimbabwe? Unlike Libya we don't have any oil :(

Unlikely to happen.
There is a growing flow of white immigrants in SA (expats, as well as brits and germans) while fewer look for greener pastures.

If a genocide happens, it will after Europe's fall (where there are tons of problems, much more criticals than those in SA)+

I don't think it will happen.. what i do see happening is groups within groups secluding themselves(financially, socially etc) and in the process causing mass revolts when exposed. This is constantly happening in SA as some people just can't get passed the old segregation or accept that incompetence, fraud, mismanagement etc are not racially limited but rather a product of a skewed system.

Yes, but the poor don't know what the implications of a broken economy would be. We are talking about the poor here. You know, without an education or knowledge of political, social and economic history of countries that have had genocides occur. Ask a guy living in a shack with no education about Bosnia and he would want to know who he Bosnia is and where does he live. When the poor are told "kill all those people and what was theirs will be yours" would the fact that that would destroy the economy deter them?

It's easy to insight atrocity, history shows this, and education is vital to preventing it. Sad that education is in the state it's in.

As to the OP, Geriatrix, To be honest, the most alarming sign would be a mass support of a leader with a hatred of a specific group. Malema fits the profile, of course. Unfortunately, we do have a pretty good recipe brewing for it though. Biggest ingredient's are inequality and poverty, followed by racial divides and non-education. Doesn't help that Government seems to want the flames of tension fanned by a moron that spouts "non-policy" without sanction, coupled with non-action towards education, alleviation of poverty, etc.

Do I feel that genocide is immanent? Not at this time. Malema is a nitwit, unlike the other criminals guilty of inciting genocide in history. And even if the twit did eventually get into a position of policy creation, it's not for a very long time. Hopefully, he gets driven over by a bus soon.

Good point. Can’t argue there.

exactly

Malema is a hitler in the making and is a total megalomaniac. Most politicians suffer from lobido dominae. He is a prime example.

If you are concerned about a genocide and can't leave the country come to Cape Town, nice views, good schools, and we "mostly" get along :)

I am still waiting for the ANC to "chain Malema. The day that happens I will consider your comment as valid and have a tiny spec of greater respect for the ANC. .
I'm with you. When the fat Fusk Zoombie stop sitting at ANCYL functions praising the idiots, and rather tell them they (Anc) distance them from the yl, removing their colours from the village idiots shoulder. That day I will believe the ANC has the good of this country and all its citizens on their hearts.

even coming to this forum is bad for one's health
It is... why can't we go back to a day when the core topic of this forum was internet, and internet medium. This forum is really now about all the hand-picked ANC news and the agony aunt sections. No disrespect but long ago, all that was spoken about here was IT stuff and the utterings of ANC idiots didn't even register here.

So simply stick to the IT sections then. Why visit Current Affairs?
