Article: 2011 a blue year: Zille

DA leader and Western Cape premier Helen Zille arrived at Parliament on Thursday in an off-the-shoulder, flowing blue dress and declared 2011 a blue year in reference to her party's colours.

Ran into Helen Zille at the Nan Hua Temple last Sunday for the Chinese New Year's Cultural Festival.

She's amazing. She spoke at the Temple opening, and I loved her speech. She just keeps going. She works hard. She makes such an effort.

Best of all, she didn't bother with a huge motorcade or bodyguards. She was just there. She participated. She greeted me and smiled for my photos.

Definitely voting DA anywhere and everywhere I can.

Responding to questions, Zille said South Africa was a much better place now than it was in 1994.

Interesting. Judging by some of the opinions on this forum, quite a few people here would disagree with her?

I've seen one DA poster, more like an A4 page, on a street light between eastgate and the city centre. They'll win WC, nothing else

I live in a DA controlled suburb and recently saw our Councilor for the first time while campaigning. I'm sure some people are aware of the condition of the roads in and around Midrand and even with that in mind, she STILL decided to remind me that all the services delivered are becuase of her! I LMAO as I drove away.

Ja...I noticed the same thing. There are already ANC posters in Norwood...but no DA posters. I actually mailed them on Friday when I got home telling them they must get their freakking @ss into gear and put posters up dammit! tsk.

Its different. Some things are worse overrall, some things (notably human rights) are better overrall, some things seem dangerously close to returning to how they were (censorship and police brutality). Some things are much better for certain population groups (service delivery for black people) and worse for certain population groups (service delivery for white people).

On the whole I think the ANC could have done a far better job if it was actually interested in helping people of all colours and not just winning elections.

Remember that you have to buy licenses to put posters on lamp poles.
And if they City of Ekurhuleni wants to be difficult they can be. Even just a normal poster for a nightclub they sometimes get all strung up about.

If Zille was Black, she could be president.

I agree.

I really don't see why people are still voting for the ANC. What have they done for the last decade? We read about corrupt ANC people on almost a daily basis, but yet the people still vote for them? With the DA, you'd have a hard time finding any negative news about them. And when there is, it normally turns out it's the ANC that's behind it.

LOL. Seriously dude, if the DA was serious about being a contender to knock ANC from it's perch, then they are going to have to do a lot more to win votes. How are they going to change opinions of the voters if they are completely invisible?
