Article: Avatar re-released with new scenes

Avatar, the most successful movie in history, is returning to cinemas this weekend in the US and many other countries to show off some nine minutes of previously unseen footage.

Cameron and the studios are greedy. I also heard he wants to re-release Titanic in 2012.

I somehow find this quite depressing. It's not like they found some unseen footage of Star Wars from 30 years ago and digitized and re-released it - Avatar was out LAST YEAR and they're already pimping it. It was a pretty soulless movie to begin with. I'm beginning to get quite cynical about CGI tbh.

While on this subject of Avatar....is Avatar the movie copied from the cartoon movie Delgo?

Enough of this Avatar cr@p! Cameron is killing it while he can - the only thing the film had had going for it was its CGI. The storyline is as cliché as you get, now he wants to add an extra 9min of material to the already over-long 3hrs of boredom.

Not specifically about Avatar but I think it's a good idea especially to show 3D movies again. Gives those that haven't seen it the first time opportunity to see it in proper 3D.
Gee .. repeats coming to the movies, who would have guessed.

Oh gosh, more Avatar cr@p! I must say I have lost all respect for Mr Milkman

Not too phased about the unseen footage, I was traveling and didn't get to see it first time round, glad i'll be able to in 3D. Now I'm tasked with finding some one who hasn't seen it already to go with me.

I saw it twice on the big screen and wanted to go a third time..... looks like I will get the chance. although I was hoping for at least half and hour of extra footage.

9 minutes ? I thought that there was going to be a Directors' Cut with 30 minutes extra - I guess that this is not that.

I enjoyed the movie, but then I have been a SF fan since childhood - although this is not true SF, more space adventure.

All the complaining about more choice.
It's not like they're forcing you to watch it.

But, they should refund everyone who owns the DVD because it does not contain the extra 9 minutes.
