Article Mistake corrections

So many errors, feel like it was a Google Translate. Does anyone read these before publishing?

The C919 single-aisle jet, which can hold up to 168 passengers, soared over Pudong international airport in the commercial hub of Shanghai, as a crowd of thousands cheered.

The Chinese plane is touted to rival [to] the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737, but a spokesman for the aircraft’s maker said it cannot compare.

Ballantyne added that “it is very unlikely that it will be able to compete in terms of technology and economics with the new-generation aircraft” produced by [of] Boeing and Airbus.

Chinese airlines are expected to drive demand over the next two decades, buying nearly 7,000 planes – mostly from Boeing and Airbus.

The development of the C919 is a key step on the path laid out by Chinese leaders to transform the country into a creator of profitable technology.

Edit: I see it's an AL Jazeera piece - are you unable to edit them, then?

Thanks for pointing out the errors.

The piece is part of a newswire service we use, and we are not allowed to make changes to the articles (why we publish them as they come out), but I can look at the errors and amend where permitted. Small mistakes are normally fine to correct.

Edit - all the errors have been corrected. Thanks for the message - we really appreciate it.

Okay that makes sense I suppose. Pity they don't have an english editor to pass these through.

In 'Coming soon – Check new debit orders before they are authorised': https://mybroadband.co.za/news/bank...-debit-orders-before-they-are-authorised.html

The second to last paragraph could have been written better: A PASA system to only allow authorised debit orders through was set to launch in October 2016, at which point it was already a year behind schedule. (original)

In October 2016 PASA was set to launch a system that would only allow authorised debit orders to be processed. At that point, it was already a year behind schedule.

Your plural use for SMS is confusing, you switch between SMSs, SMS messages, SMS and SMS notifications. I would recommend picking one and using it consistently.

Hi Car_B_OM,

Thanks for the feedback - it is appreciated.

The first post is a BusinessTech article, and their team will address its.

Thanks for the two sets of suggestions, we will keep them in mind.

https://businesstech.co.za/news/gov...s-charge-of-corruption-against-malusi-gigaba/

The EFF leader said he has received document purportedly from Transnet employees, detailing the corrupt activity. Key among this evidence is a letter allegedly from Gigaba to Denel, telling the company to proceed with a contract despite not being allowed to do so.

Is that a typo?

The article is about Gigaba being accused of corruption involving Transnet and suddenly Denel is mentioned once without further elaboration. Is Denel involved in Transnet contracts?

His own wife or the junior employee's wife or some other wife?

He was caught at his own house with his own wife by a police employee?

Thanks for the post.

The "affair" bullet point has been changed to "employee's wife", which clears up remaining issues.
