Article: Pierre Korkie has been killed

South African Pierre Korkie, who was held hostage by Al-Qaeda militants, has been killed, the Gift of the Givers confirmed on Saturday.

"He was killed in an attempted hostage release in Yemen early this morning [Saturday]," founder Imtiaz Sooliman said.

You may be right. Let's see: al-qaeda, al-shabab, taliban, boko harem etc. Let's see if we are able to find a common denominator that binds them all together. Uhm . . . I think I see it, but I dare not speak it's name - but it has nothing to do with peace.

Earlier on Saturday, Agence France-Presse reported that drone strikes killed nine suspected Al-Qaeda militants in southeast Yemen.

interesting how sooliman seems to have avoided saying that that Pierre Korkie was killed by his captors, but instead choosing to be vague as to exactly who murdered Pierre Korkie

I find disgusting that another country needs to trying to rescue a South African citizen, where our own government is just to useless to look after our own.

Of course South Africa looks after its own. Just look at Nkandla and all the other corruption. Some people are being looked after REALLLLLLY well.

Can't argue with that.

South Africa is the largest economic trading partner with China in Africa.
SA bends over backwards to accommodate China diplomatically, to our embarrassment.
SA cuddles up to Russia for nuclear power, while Britain, France, the USA and most other Europeans have a much better safety record. A second Chernobyl in Africa won't bother the Russians one bit.
