Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead, the SA Football Association confirmed on Sunday.
Safa spokesperson Dominic Chimhavi confirmed the 27-year-old had been has been shot dead.

Well done to him saving his GF. I'll be honest and say I have no idea who he is just heard Bafana Bafana captain and also played for Pirates. Sure loads of people know who he is. I just respect him for saving his GF's life. Your place is reserved in heaven, may you rest in peace.
So his girl was the target? It makes sense given the extra marital affair they were having.

South Africa features prominently on evening news in Aus these days, this story was followed by yet another on Oscar, and then there was the Malaudzi death the other day too...what a pity it is quite negative publicity
They say "any publicity is good publicity", but people are hardly going to say "that seems like a great place to spend a holiday" after watching the news.

However, 1 famous person dies, and the entire police force lose their minds? whereas a normal tax payer like you and I gets raped or murdered, they don't bat an eye or set up special task forces?
