These types of operations are normally videotaped, so it becomes difficult for the relevant SAPS to deviate from due process.

He already had two opportunities to kill a cop and he went through with it. The general idea is to neutralise any and all possibilities of him having another opportunity to strike and often the only way to guarantee that is through a pre-emptive strike. The military use that tactic all the time and have so for centuries.

That is not legal in SA law, except possibly under martial law but we are not there yet.

Put yourself in the cops shoes. If some guy already killed two of your friends, and you see him are you really going to give him the chance to kill you as well.

Yup not legal no but consider Zuma's shoot to kill policy and the fine line between legal and illegal becomes very, very fuzzy. I'm sure SAP just do what it takes in the interests of self preservation but it puts the innocent people at a much greater risk of ending up as collateral damage.

U got some issues with police dude. They dont have easy jobs, and they get gunned down fairly often.
So this guy "only" killed cops and you know, just stole stuff. What a saint.
Odd how you dont associate cops as people. You are probably the type who mouths off at them, then gets all shocked when they dont treat you nicely.

Bottom line, this guy most likely killed other cops. If he has no respect for the law, he wont for anyone else either. He probably opened fire first and then got what he deserved.

They don't consider THEMSELVES as people, people are poor and do not have influence in the Government(even though we think we do), we are the people who complain daily about gas prices, food, tax, slow internet connection, crime rates, low salary, dirty streets.

Perhaps I used the wrong phrase to describe them, instead I should have called them SOLDIERS.

They know what they are doing when they put on that uniform, same with a "criminal". He/she knows he will go to war with other gangs(police) and he might not come home, ever.

It's life feeling sorry for a soldier who gets his arm blown off in a war. But then you ask the wounded soldier, how many people did you kill before your arm was blown off? He answers, "I killed around 31 other soldiers." So you are feeling sorry for the poor guy who lost an arm for YOUR country, while taking another life in ANOTHER country.

If you simplify it, it turns out to US vs THEM.

Like, if you are going to enter a world that resolves around guns, prepare to get shot and possibly killed.

This is simply the truth, I try not to walk around the bush, it has gotten this world no-where(especially africa).
