2. Yes, the police gang is too big and way out of control. They just pay attention to the rich communities and businesses even though most of their salaries are paid off by the poor and suffering people of this country/continent. I would rather have this gang broken up and further monitored, put a few police stations in the heart of the slums, have the police report back to someone on a weekly basis with what they are doing, what crimes did they solve, how many rapes and abuse cases have they investigated...and post the results to the PUBLIC on a weekly basis. With videos and etc. A revolution is what those slums need.

Prove it or shut up. Here is one example that clearly indicates a drop in crime in the slums. Please provide your counter proof now. Also please notice the section "Crimes heavily dependant on police action for detection" and how those stats have risen. That means the police are actively patrolling in that area. Or is that more of the "nothing" they do all the time while they are actually out bombing gangs?

Alright, no, those stats are true if you ask the majority of people. This is where I am getting this from. Not from News24 eTV or SABC...1, 2 or 3.

Anyone who has family friends/grew up in the slums will co-sign my statement. You can gather an entire group of people from the slums and give them a ballot and these are the stats that will come out.

This is how MOST PEOPLE(again, the poor) see the police. As corrupt individuals who abuse their power and status. That's it. You can't tell me this is the first time you have heard this.

50 rich people paying: $200 rand each.
(of course it's not like this) but when it's on PAPER this is how it comes out. The Government relies heavily on the poor! There is a reason when it is close to those election days they pretend and suck-up to the people in the slums.

This is reality.

They contribute just over 24% of all Personal Income Tax, which makes up about 28% of all Taxes collected by SARS.

That's about 7% of all taxes...

All those poor people who have continually told you they do not like the Police, eSKOM, Government...you think they are all lying? No the poor have spoken many times but they are ignored. So if their words don't speak, perhaps their actions will(think about it).

Do you think people are just born from birth saying: "Oh, let me go commit a crime, oh let me go steal." NO. We are all products of our environments mixed in with DNA characteristics. This is the out-come of the current system. It has been like this for decades and it will continue to be like this until a revolution has been started.

A final note: These views I have match the views of most people who are poor and or in the slums. If you refuse to accept how they see this "police" force, then you will never understand them and you will never understand why they do what they DO.

There is a reason why they protect some criminals, those criminals are someones brother, mother, sister, aunt, father etc. More often than not, this criminals friends and relatives are also located where he originated from, and guess where that is...THE SLUMS.

These are the consequences of the Government system.

Is that why I have seen several new projects dedicated to a rural area near me, namely a new school, soccer field and health clinic? Is that what you mean by the slums are ignored? I have worked closely with people living in rural areas. For the most part its only the criminals who view the police as evil, cant imagine why though... Yes, I have heard a few bad stories, but on the whole the police do way more good than harm.

There is a reason why they protect some criminals, those criminals are someones brother, mother, sister, aunt, father etc. More often than not, this criminals friends and relatives are also located where he originated from, and guess where that is...THE SLUMS.

10% of the people pay about 90% of the taxes. Of every R10 they pay in taxes they get back R1 in services.

The 'poor' pay about 10% of taxes whilst for every R1 they pay they get back R10 in services.

By that logic the government (any government) is a gang. Sure they put on airs (gang members are called ‘citizens’, etc.) but they map DIRECTLY to any gang structure. They are just much bigger and wealthier than other gangs – thus they hate them and perceive them as threats. The biggest mistake PAGAD (People Against Gangs And Drugs) made was being against gangs. The police felt threatened and saw PAGAD as coming after them and competing in the ‘gang’ stakes. After all, they were more effective than the police.
