Article: We have settled the matter with Sars: Malema

EFF leader Julius Malema is complying with the provisional sequestration order against him, he said on Monday.

Speaking to journalists outside the High Court in Pretoria, where the provisional order was extended to December 1, the Economic Freedom Fighters' leader said he came to court to see the extension granted.

Since the provisional sequestration is still in force, the matter has not been settled with SARS

Yep,

"We want to put it on record, like we did in the past, that we have settled the matter with Sars," Malema said.

"We agreed, on top of what they've sold from me, I shall put [an] extra four million [rand] and then, the first instalment, was rather I should pay one million."

Subsequent to that, he needed to pay R500,000 every month, with the SA Revenue Service (Sars) taking R30,000 from his salary every month.

"Now, I am complying with all those agreements I've reached with Sars," Malema said.

Something here don't seem right to me

Taking it out of context that sounds like a zumamaths fix. We want R500 000 every month. Ok sure take R30 000 every month. Same thing.

where does he get R500k every month - from his poor supporters???

Something not ethical here - we would not get the same treatment!

The stupid thing is if you follow Helen Zille on twitter. She posted something asking where Julius is getting the money and all the replies are just people telling her that it's none of anyone's business since it's his personal affairs...

I don't understand how his supporters aren't questioning this as well >.<

"we"? This oke has serious delusions of grandeur

How did Zuma settle his debts and pay his responsibilities when he was broke and unemployed?

That's a question of convenience truly speaking, especially coming from Helen Zille. Remember that all political parties refuse to disclose their funders, so we can't expect Juju to do otherwise. For instance, who financed the DA's R100m elections budget for Gauteng? Only political parties know and they will never reveal that information. SA is poorer for not knowing who finances politicians. It's a fact that Juju is being financed by someone, but all politicians are financed.

You are confused.

We're not comparing political parties here though. This is Julius in his personal capacity. Logically we all know that he can't afford to pay back that money so he has to be getting it from somewhere. As a stupid example, wouldn't you want to know if he's found some way to pay back his tax using tax payers money?

Also, any donations/gifts he receives are taxable too... I trust they're all being declared correctly?
