Article: Western Cape purging itself from blacks: ANC

Excellent comeback by Zille.

ANC FUD is getting tiresome. Pity there's still people who'll be proclaiming it as the truth...

Why is it difficult to understand?

My first post say that I prefer to be represented by people who look like me - black people. Second post say that I prefer black people over white people in general. Third post says that I prefer black girls over white girls.

All these posts are the same, they talk about my preference which is no difference from the rest of you coz it's human nature to like people who look like you therefore you would want them to represent you.

Surely you can understand the difference between someone in government who has to be a competent worker and the preference for someone who you're getting married to?!

The person in government has a job to do, why is skin tone important for this?

As has already been pointed out no your posts didn't all say the same thing. The friends and women thing brings in elements of difference. Difference in culture and facial features and all sorts of things. In the case of physical attraction I seem to have no conscious control over who I find attractive. It seems hard-wired into me.

These are different to your scenario of 2 identical clone pod people differing only in skin tone. If at that point you still want the dude that is the same race as you then I don't understand that. I don't understand why you would have a preference based solely on race. I can understand a preference based on cultural familiarity or technical expertise but not on race.

Does this not also stem from a cultural preference, as regardless of skin color you would identify with these people as they come from the same cultural background as you.
He said the 2 leaders were the same. I assume that means they both came from the same cultural background too. It is entirely possible.

Under those circumstances he still goes with race. He bases his decision solely upon skin colour.

He also directly said the skin colour of his leader matters to him. Not cultural identity, colour.

I think most people are like that on some level. So yes we are all racist in that way.

Its a trust thing.... but this kind of prejudiced is what is killing this country.

You want to see a black face on top no matter what... we will never be happy with a black face on top (general obviously)

What ever the black man on top does is wrong according to the whites... what ever the black man on top does is right according to the black people.

Both Helen Zille and Jacob Zuma suffer from this... and we waste our time with the jabbering from both sides.

It need not necessarily be a trust thing. It can be a pragmatic realization that different groups have different needs and people from that group can relate more to the needs of that group. No matter how hard I may try, I will not be able to fully relate to a township resident with no running water, who gets mugged frequently, who's had TB three times and whose daughters has been raped at least once per year by local skollies.

It's human nature to be narcissistic? I always thought that was a mental illness.

I don't want people who "look" like me to represent me, I want people with a similar background and mindset as me to represent me. Skin colour doesn't factor into it.

In our society, the factors you listed do often coincide with skin colour
