Hey guys and girls

So with all the digging Fibre is finally coming and with it a properly set up network will be in the order of the day.

So after going around the block I decided on an Asus AC 1900 but am a bit lost on the long distance link. Basically what I want to do is hook up my other property 3 houses down the road, about 100m

I'm open to any other router recommendations but I'd like it to have a guest network and would not mind the AC as my other peripherals will probably catch up to AC in due time.

What do I need for a 100m link. POE powered is fine as I have an injector laying around

Get two of these, create a PTP link and done, well, just get another AP for client wifi at the other location as well.

Your Asus will service clients in the one home, the two devices above will create a link between the two homes, and add a AP at the other house as well to service those clients

May I ask what you think about this

Come with Poe adapter and mounting hose lamp, ideally suited to the old antenna poles sitting on both houses

That will also work 100%, just recommenced the others as they are easier to setup.

Hi
I'm going to be implementing the same solution using the ubiquitis for a family neighbour.

Question, from the ONT, should I install a new wired router to connect to the pppoe, and then do the split, one cable to my Asus router, and the other to the ubiquiti neighbour link. I suppose this will be better to keep the networks separate.
Which router (cheap, no WiFi etc needed) do you suggest, that could split the fibre line speed between them at a specified ratio (easily without coding if possible) if needed, show the stats and usage for each network separately, do the QoS effectively etc.

Thanks

Secondly, with these types of point to point wifi devices, would there be a drop in speed and latency?
