ATI Stream Technology with 8.12 Driver unlocked !

and your b!tching is irritating the crap out of me.

I have as much right to bold any sentence i feel fit.

I bolded the the headers because they are done on seperate cards, not the whole paragraph.

I have a better idea, why dont you take your little annoying butt and go fly a kite, no one said you had to read my posts ......

Well we can read...there is no need to be a baby about it;) And Im following a thread...the fact that you are posting your views in it doesn't mean I have to avoid it...right..? So be a good boy now...ok:)

EDIT: And the bolding is fine, but the font size is just a tad much.

ok dude, I don't mind you, but now you pushing the limits here... you looking at getting an infraction as you are now not only antagonizing but also insulting other forum members... I see you very new here, and until you gain some reputation, you can't make bold statements as it makes us think of you as the ever popular "kamakazi posters".

So maybe you should do things other people want to be done for now until you become a more entrenched member on this forum(it might take ages though, I'm still see as a newbie)

I think you should cool off a bit and learn the rules of this board, you're still new around here.

firstly as much as he doesnt like reading bold, he could have sent me a pm instead of disrupting my thread.

Secondly his thread was a VAST over statement, i bolded the headers, not whole paragraphs or anything else.

thirdly, i might be new, but i dont take nonsense from anyone who doesnt have manners.

I post constructive posts and altho my post count is low i dont post meaningless stuff and have tried to be constructive, if the mods want to ban me then fine, ill go and be constructive somewhere else.

if you have a problem with me take it to PM, this topic is about ATI stream not about me bolding threads...

yes yes, I get you man, but it could be possible that your increasing the size of titles and putting in bold comes across as insulting our intelligence...

but I do think it's pretty awesome that ATI is fighting back at Nvidia like a cat in a bag...

What intelligence :p

that's a joke, incase you didn't get it.

The reason for the bold/enlarged fonts, if anyone bothered to ask before they starting attacking me was the fact that this is BIG news and because the tests were done on seperate cards which might have confused anyone who don't know much about these things. And from the last few posts it seems i was not wrong in bolding, people were still asking when physx ( they spelt physics ) is coming to ATI.

yes. I would of never thought that I would buy an ATI instead of nVidia because it just whips it 3-love. Can't wait for my card!

Woot, finaly some screens showing off ATI Stream Transcoding :

http://www.bjorn3d.com/Material/revimages/video/ATI_Stream/transcoding.jpg

systems used :
1. AMD Platform w/ ATI Avivo Video Converter : CPU: AMD Phenom™ X4 9950 2.6GHz, GPU: ATI Radeon™ HD 4850 512MB GDDR3, 2Gb ram

2. NVIDIA w/ Elemental Badaboom: CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9950 2.6GHz, GPU: XFX GeForce GTX280 1GB GDDR3 (602e/2210m), 2Gb ram

3. INTEL w/ QuickTimePro + MPEG-2 Pack: CPU: Intel Core2 Extreme Processor QX9650 3.0GHz, GPU: Intel G45, 2Gb ram

OS used : Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit

article is on bjorn3d.com

What is interesting is that ATI stream seems to run better on AMD platform, infact it is 12x faster than intel, and the amd systems were 2.6 Ghz while intel was a 3.0Ghz. ATI Stream altho will bump preformance on all levels is mainly being developed for video transcoding, rendering etc ..

So guess alot of people that run Cad apps will start buying AMD if intel does not come up with a better solution.

that site says that... :D

i think they meant direct links to file such as .exe and so forth ( suppose they dont want to be accused of stealing download links ), i dont think it applies to pic's. ever second thread on this site has pic's posted and they all link to other websites.

Anyway, what do you guys think of the benchmark ?

Welcome to my ignore list.

There is no need to make big bold writing that takes up the entire screen and then to insult people when they complain about it.

All i'm being refered to is http://www.bjorn3d.com/directlink.php

it says: "Please do not directly link to our files. Instead link to the page where the file is hosted."

no pic this side.

Ah ok :)

here is the article :
http://www.trustedreviews.com/graphics/news/2008/11/13/AMD-Details-ATI-Stream/p1

here is the pic :

what it boils down too is AMD 2.6ghz vs intel 3ghz, amd transcoded video in 23mins while intel system took 4 hours and 34mins ...

To poster above. good, if im on your ignore list then i dont have to worry about your wining in the future which suits me just fine :)

Thats true...but what GPU did the intel platform use..? Onboard? vs a 4850(AMD)...?

hmmm... seems like AMD are playing dirty here... it's as though they realised that they can't beat Intel on the CPU front, but they encoded the software to handy cap the intel systems :D.

maybe yes, but end results speak for themselves.

either way AMD is looking to be in a good position as ATI stream automaticly bumps up their CPU's to a new level of speed. The requirements for ATI stream is a socket 939 CPU, so even older cpu's will suddenly get a speed jump, which means that older AMD cpu's that were outclassed by intel might now in turn be doing the outclassing.

This is really a massive move for ATI as it Literally changes history in other words. every single benchmark since socket 939 cpu's become obsolete ....
