Audi F1 Team

hmmm how would an audi pwn a ferrari hahahahah or mclaren, both 2 of the fastest cars in world on both roads and F! race track

im surprized a huge company like audi does not have a f1 team to be honest

Ermm, Mclaren is powered by Mercedes. And the Mclaren F1 road car was powered by BMW. Audi has been dominating the Le Mans circuit year after year, a true testament of reliability and performance. Porsche competes in Le Mans too btw. F1 is a couple of hours every two weeks, not really a good indication of a manufacturers capabilities.

Wonder if they'll make it a TDi like the R10 :p

I don't think Bernie Ecclestone will appreciate a tractor within his F1 circus, especially when it thrashes everything petrol powered like it did with Le Mans.

Pity forced induction is not permitted in F1...

f1 has nothing to manufacturers capabilities

all im saying is just because your a huge company like audi dont mean you will pwn anyone

look at toyota, the biggest car company in the world who cannot even finish 4th

Who said anything about being the largest. Your implication is quite clear that you were refering to a manufacturers capabilities:

;)

F1 might be the most glamorised, but it's certainly not a testament to a manufacturers ability by competing for a couple of hours every two weeks. Let's see a Ferrari go 24 hours non-stop at an average speed of 240km/h+. If Audi entered F1, they would rock.

And as mentioned before, Mclaren is powered by Mercedes, and they gave Ferrari many a run both past and present. So what's so special about Ferrari? Just because they make pretty road cars? On the track it's a different story from the road dude. Technology from the track goes into road cars, not the other way around.

They would certainly do F1 in more style than the other companies, but I'm not so sure about the pwn'ing part.

if audi would rock at f1 why are they not in it?

the money is F1, tons of money actually alot more than some 24 hour race

i think le mans and f1 are 2 very different things

do you think you just whip out an F1 car, just because audi can do le mans does not mean they can do f1

toyota is testiment to that

i say bring on audi and porshe :) spice up the biggest up f1 a little more :)

why would a ferrari want to go for 24 hours when they can race every 2 weeks and earn up to 64 million :)

last i heard it was 4 mil for a point in f1

le mans is chump change for companies like ferrari

Porsche wont go into F1 they open the F1 event with the Porsche Cup.
Audis ruling the Le Mans.

So Why dont VW enter F1 use Audi and Porsche technology and bang you got some competition with Ferrari, oooh but thats where the F1 bosses will get agitated.

you guys forgetting about DTM racing aswell....hakkinen , alesi - those guys race there aswell..(audi and merc too)

Audi driver Mathias Ekstrom won the DTM championship for 2007 so yes, whatever motorsport Audi competes in they are at the very least supremely competitive...

They could enter F1 with any number of manufacturers the company owns (VW) including Lamborghini and considering Ferrari are their natural competitors then perhaps Lambo would be ideal...

If they could get a capable driver I'm sure they would do very well. Alonso isn't very happy at Mclaren and he is capable, just need one more.

Things could get interesting if that happened. Would be nice to see 3 constructors battling for top spot.

Edit:

i don't think Audi owns VW, as far as I know they're in a technology partnership with engines.

Porsche owns VW who own Audi who owns lamborgini and Bentley ??? Something like that with seat thrown in too. ???:confused:

I think audi would fit in quite well.

As for the 24hr le-mans, those engines - although not overkilled like F1, have to last slightly longer than F1 engines which have to last a whole two races. But that refers back to constructors abilities and whatnot.

Even if they just add an aesthetic touch to F1 like Jaguar did, it'll still be a nice change. I reckon they get Mika hakkinen and Heinz Harald Frentzen in to drive for them :D
