Aussie in SA looking for a decent ADSL plan

Hi I have just moved to capetown and am struggling to find a adsl provider which doesn't cost an arm and a leg for what you get.

Is there a plan with:
- unlimited downloads (even if just at night and on weekends)
- unshaped
- and under 700-1000 Rand a month

Its mostly for torrents and online gaming off peak (i work 8-6 mon fri)

i honestly had adsl in aus for 350 per month that was unlimited downloads and i'm expecting to pay more here but not more than double/three times etc.

There is Neotel Prime for R999. Uncapped up to 2Mbit wireless. Not too sure about gaming latency etc.

Otherwise an uncapped 384kbps ADSL account costs R999 - http://openweb.co.za/express_adsl.php. Then another R150 or so per month for the 384kbps line rental.

What people are doing are getting these express accounts (from ISP Axxess) with 4Mbit ADSL lines (R500ish line rental per month). I think they run at 384kbps during hours and are full speed after hours.
 
Arm and a leg my friend arm and leg...

Best thing to do is get lots of local, use Route Sentry and pray that you get an invite to some local sites...

Just wait until you start looking for a satellite television service provider and a cell phone service provider. Welcome to South Africa. Use lube :D

You do get the bonus of being able to drive around town with 20 people on the back of your ute/bakkie without getting fined tho!;)

Somewhere to start:

Telkom Do Broadband 3 (includes line rental and bandwidth): 4mb adsl line, 3gb international bandwidth, 30gb local, for about R540.

Compare this to similar packages on Openweb, Axxess and WebAfrica.
 
edit: forgot to add, 'decent' ADSL plans do not exist in SA :) ... if you find one please let us know!

But seriously, lets hope you're right, I'm finding it impossible to find a package that I think is worth the money :(
