And then we get this jewel from Sepp the Blinkererd horse's ass Blatter...
But the president of world football's governing body FIFA, Sepp Blatter, has given them his blessing, blasting the detractors by telling them Africa is about dance and music and that moaning about the instrument bordered on discrimination.

They won't be banned for the world cup that's for sure. In a previous post on here I said they would not ban it because it would be deemed as racist...

Tah-Dah!

vuvuzelas are only annoying to the person not using one :D everyone should buy one and go crazy! :D

it reminds me of that spongebob episode where they use that instrument to make funny noises :)

Vuvuzelas for whites (oh, sorry, fans of silence):

(1) Place thumb over blow end
(2) Pour beer into horn end
(3) Put blow end at mouth
(4) Release thumb

Best damn depth charge ever

I have never used one or been exposed to one first hand, however if the chaotic noise that was experience over the tv is anything to go by ....I'd rather not.

The Austrians have banned them since they could be used as missiles. That's a fair point. My point was that all those people and countries that have complained about the vuvuzela would not be satisfied at all because they would be deemed as racist. Now of course being labled a racist is a very sensitive subject and all those people/countries that oppose the vuvuzela will not protest much more since they don't want to be seen as racist...

Of course it has nothing to do with common sense

Retro you say common sense but i like the vuvuzela.

nobody was moaning about the vuvuzela during the league and league cups but now suddenly it is really bad? It has been part of soccer culture for a very long time now, so common sense should point towards keeping it part of our soccer since we are hosting the world cup.

Sorry but i never heard a single person on this forum moan about a vuvuzela, all of sudden now they actually watch soccer in this country it is a big problem? If it annoys turn the volume down.

Exactly how do Vuvuzelas relate to music in that quote. Ban the bloody noise makers.

And why should we care that some obscure country in an obscure part of the world banned the vuvuzela again? Irrelevant!

it depends, i mean some people do see it as an "african" thing(and when i say african i'm censoring quite a lot ;) ) and mention how much it annoys them. but then you get people who find pubs too loud and drinking harmful ;)

as Scarface said: "So you wanna dance, Frank, or do you wanna sit here and have a heart attack?"

It is a south african thing and has been for a very long time, i watch SA soccer so i suppose i am used too it.

You cannot ask fans to stop using something they have been using for years because now all off a sudden people don't like it.

Where was the call to ban the vuvuzela a year ago?

Totally agree with this post. How come its an issue all of a sudden? Nobody ever moaned about them when they were being used in PSL matches.

No one watches PSL matches.... pretty simple answer ;)

Everyone in the World watches the Confed+WC. I never ever watch soccer not even the Europian seasons. But I do watch the WC and did the same with the confed cup. I am allowed to hate/dislike the vuvuzela as it makes watching the games a true pain.

They told us to stop smoking on Loftus.
And we have been doing it for years :D

I agree with you, but i still thinks it makes a noise:o

You can hate/dislike the vuvuzela. But as you have pointed out you don't really watch soccer, the fact that you now watch it, and that its a "true pain" to you, does not mean all those that have been watching the game for many many years should now have to change their ways for those that arent really fans anyway.

Yup and that is exactly what is happening sadly.

So in your logic, the same goes for the rest of the world who has never seen or heard a vuvuzela yet? The players who are not accustomed to it and so forth?

The WC is watched by over 1 Billion people, and only a few million watch soccer in SA (PSL). So they now dictate what the other couple of hundred million of other people say or complain about?

Wow, I'm baffled very very baffled ....
