Avg 8 isn't free!

Or am I wrong here? I have 7.5 now, and I saw they stop updates on that 31st May. But now I see there isn't a free version anymore, only a 30 day trail.

@ jacqvt - AFAIK AVG 7.5 has extended the updates till the end of Des 08.

avg is free just dont download the full internet security avg thats not free

As many viruses come in via e-mail this makes the free edition useless.

I installed AVG Free edition on Friday, when I got my shiny new Vista laptop.

On Saturday, I had to visit a few sites, cos I 'misplaced' my Nero Premium 7 key. Then in the afternoon I decided, screw this, I'm sick and tired of AVG Free edition's notification bar that pops up - and bought AVG 8 Internet security. It comes to R420.

Well, tonight I decided to do a scan of the laptop and was horrified (but very happy in the end) to find numerous Trojan Horses and other stuff on my laptop. AVG Free edition never picked it up!!

I guess you get what you pay for....I feel safe on the internet now.
