I did work for a computer lab, Norton and Mcaffee didnt pick up a thing. AVG went beserk, spotted quite a few foul beasties. I've used it for two years now, no virus hassles

I have been using Trend Mico on my work Laptop and AVG on my wife's Laptop, and then I noticed something wrong on my work laptop, so I installed AVG and it picked up 9 trojans. So at the moment I am running "AVG", "Trend Micro" and "A squared" just to make sure :) it's like wearing 3 condoms, and then I have a few things like xsoftspy and Ad-Aware for those nasty spyware's around. With all this I will probably find they clean each other out one day including my system :)

I've been using AVG ever since I got ADSL. Never had a serious virus problem so far.

Been using AVG for about 2 years now, no problems in that time. It just does what it is supposed to.

Used AntiVir for a while as well, but the damn thing kept falling over and having a confidence crisis.

No AV progam is bulletproof so I switch between avg and avast every 6 month. Every time the new program picks up something the old one didn't.

Using AVG for 3 years now, combined with ZoneAlarm. I think we had 1 virus problem in the first year, but I'm not sure. Email has worked 100% and 2 PC's on a home LAN connect to the Net without issues, so I'm not inclined to change...

I haven't used AVG myself, but I know people who did and a lot of them had problems with their emails timing out...I know Norton does this...

I vote AVG ... had it on my laptop (b4 it was stolen :( ) picked up all email born virus threats, or so i think  . Now i have it on my desktop ... and no problems to date ...
Also i have never had email slowing down issues ... i recommend it to all my clients, but what i notice is many do not do regular updates ...

I wouldnt touch AVG with a stick, IMO its crap, maybe even worse than Norton.

In most cases in life, you get what you pay for, so you shouldnt expect much from AVG, (of course this doesnt apply to Telkom)

And for those who think AVG is so great, chech here how it measures up to other anti-virus products: http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/default.asp?id=69&mnu=69

;) It would appear your its you and your stick as most seems to think AVG isnt crap at all. And I would have to agree.

Sorry for you :D

AVG is great, doesn't use much CPU or RAM; but it also lets most viruses waltz right though...

I recomend almost anything else... other than Nortons, which detects everything, but hijacks all the resources and leaves your with a very secure AMD FX62 that performs like a PII 233Mhz
