Avoid Cell C Fixed LTE product

Whereabouts? I am in Glenwood and at 4pm when people start leaving work for home my Cell C internet literally slows to a crawl. Some nights it's ok (last night we managed to watch Netflix for an hour at 8pm) but most nights it's just awful. Can't use it at all.

i see the same thing in sunninghill, going to test it out in sasolburg for the parents, i need to replace the 2mb adsl line too far from exchange all i need is 4mb, hopefully its not congested there and can get some okay speed.

I live in Gauteng, but before this fixed LTE, I had a Cell C once off data deal as well, (100GB for R1000 for a year.) Speeds were okay in Akasia area, online gameplay ping was not too shabby, but spiked a few times. There was also times there was no internet, but data connection was there. I put the SIM in my LTE LG G3. Data didn't last long, though... 3/4 months, can't remember. The general catch of this fixed LTE bundle, is the cheap top-up rates of R12.50 (WebAfrica/Internet Solutions), but the infrastructure is not so good. My fixed Cell C LTE keeps up well, but speeds is sub-par.

Seems to me that Cell C is using Band 1, 2100MHz
I also read it was 2100Mhz, but when I force router to use 2100Mhz (using huawei band tool ) it fails to connect
I'm in the same area with the same results - just got my SIM last week. It's a bit better during the day (5-7mb down) but it crawls at night.
Then most likely the mast you are connecting to doesn't support that band.
I have same issue with AH on RAIN and my B618 as I'm situated on border of signal catchment area.
I get average LTE speeds but no LTE-A...

Why oh why can't we get fibre in central Durban? Seriously, it's not like there's a shortage of people living in my suburb who can afford it.
Same in Pretoria. Every evening and weekend it drops right down to unusable speeds. Used to get 15mbps to 30mbps when I got the service a few months back. Now both international and local is completely buggered. So I agree, just avoid it.
Their network can't cope with the demand. Not in Central Durban at least. The speeds are so slow in the evening for me that I can't even surf the net, let alone try to stream Netflix.
