DNS resolves fine using public third-party DNS servers (8.8.8.8, 1.1.1.1, 9.9.9.9, etc), but when using the ISP's automatic servers, queries seem to have all been failing today - wasn't an issue before.

Is anyone else experiencing issues with resolving DNS through Axxess fibre PPPoE accounts?
Or conversely, is anyone using Axxess's own DNS servers and they've continued to work fine today? (Please check you're definitely using Axxess's own DNS before answering :) )

Yip, DNS issues however I believe there is routing issues before the DNS issue or hop should I say.

Two long and frustrating calls later with the Axxess call centre - they eventually confirmed an issue with Axxess/Openserve fibre connectivity impacting various customers, with varying symptoms resulting from the issue(s). Their investigation is ongoing.

Even more weird that they haven't posted any notice of this on the Network Status page of their website, despite it being an issue for at least a day and a half.

Are you based in or near Gauteng?

No. And the only possibly relevant but not confirmed relevant network notice on their site is mentioned for Centurion.

I need a public-facing IP so I'm waiting on feedback.

Yes they did some migration on Openserve and you now get a private addy.
So RDP, VPN etc, and in my case, my Grandstream mini VOIP PABX stopped working.

Only solution is paying extra R39 for a static address, then you get a public IP again.

Guys, have quality of life and just get a static ip.

There's no use in trying to make the CGNAT work for your purposes.
