So I saw Axxess has uncapped MTN lte for around R350 for 100gb with speeds up to 20Mbps and then 2Mbps. So I am wondering what I'll still be able to do with 2Mbps if I perhaps hit my cap. I don't have Fibre or DSL so it's on of the affordable options for me. The main thing I am wondering if I'll be able to watch some YT, maybe Netflix, zoom/teams meeting and if I will still be able to play some CSGO/Online games with discord preferably to chat with my mates.

I recall being able to watch You Tube at even 720p when I was on ADSL 2,5 Mbps.

You should therefore manage to at least stream at 480p on 2 Mbps.

Don't know about the others though.

However, if you're able to get Telkom LTE in your area, I think a better bet from a data amount point of view is to look at their 250 GB at 10 Mbps, then it goes to 4 Mbps for 50 GB, and finally down to 2 Mbps for the remainder of the 31 (or 30 days) - all for R229 pm, prepaid, so no obligation to continue past an initial month.

Sorry, that Telkom is for 19 hrs per day :

So you'd need to get some other (peak) data between 7pm and midnight :

Thanks. It was very helpful. The Telkom signal at my place sucked, but maybe it's better. It might be an idea to use it during day time. It's prepaid right?

That's correct - I did a dummy run on Sunday on one of my prepaid SIMs, and it's listed.

Not any relevance to this. But over the last 3 months my axxess fixed lte has been horrendous. When I call all they do is reset the sim card. Get some feed of speeds in your area..

I've had Vox and Afrihost at the same place. The Afrihost was good with speeds, but the latency suck. Vox was good with latency, but the speeds were terrible. I'm going to try Axxess next week. Hopefully they'll be better
