Axxess Uncapped Express Report Back!

I've been with OpenWeb Uncapped for over 4 years now. But was only aware of the fact that it will use the full speed of your line after hours recently.

So I've had a 512K ADSL line with a 512K OpenWeb Uncapped account for 4 years, when I could have had a 4MB ADSL line and a 384K Uncapped account and done so much more. I'm the same where I only get back home after 7pm, so the throttling during work hours doesn't bother me, I'm not there to use it.

Well I'm thinking of signing up to Axxess as I'm moving soon (the OpenWeb account is not under my name), and was wondering if anyone knows if this Uncapped Express is unshaped as well?? I would presume so, as you are able to use torrents and stuff. I know the OpenWeb account are unshaped.

So once I've moved I wanna get a 4MB ADSL line (will also switch it to Axxess as it's cheaper) and then an Axxess 384K Uncapped Express account for R899.
 
i'm on a telkom 4096 dsl connection with the axxess uncapped express (fibre) 384 for 999 per month. i'm about 15gig over the 5gig 10 day threshold, but when 8:00pm hits - there's absolutely no comparison. super quick download speeds, great latency for international servers, DL speed as good as can be expected (with a prescribed max of 512).


during the daytime - it sucks major ass, but there's a million other alternatives. me, i'm at work until 5-6p.m, so it's no major sweat!

overall, very very very happy with axxess and IS. sorry to HJ the thread from htc_guy! :D

so I'd like to report back (last one) on the speed of rapidshare.

I WAS going to go the giganews route, but decided that it was too much of a pain in the a$$ IOW Im too lazy :o

so I was getting some stuff :) off rapidshare last night and OMG it was flying. Line was peaking nicely, and I was a very happy person :D

So this morning I set it going for a bit, before the horrid 8AM hit me :(

I have NEVER seen my line peak over 500KB/sec and it was doing that this morning, for the little time I was sitting drooling over my keyboard... which MADE me late for work! lol :D

I dont think there is much else to say here in this thread. I can definitely confirm that axxess have done a good job with this account, and they speeds are great.

If there is anyone who would really like me to test giganews just let me know ok, coz I dont have an account... So if you want me to test, I need an account :D

My 2c worth.

Got my Axess Express+ account on Thursday, and I have only good things to say as well. Line speed is a solid 4Mbps off peak.
The daytime limit is bearable on the 192/384kbps account.
Xbox live preformance on sports games is great. Haven't tried a FPS yet though...
Latency to the UK on speedtest.net is varies from 200-350ms depending on the time of day, which is about average as I understand.
Local latency 25-40ms.

This is without a doubt the best value for money ADSL offering on sale in SA.
 
I'm tempted to get this uncapped express thing but Suze Orman says no.
 
Well I started my first job and needed some ideas on what to do with the money. So I humoured myself and got the book.

I love characters like Suze.
