Yes, this details above are from my Axxess 384 Uncapped Shaped account that is used just for downloading on my server (about 98 % of that usage is on torrents)

Because my router is in bridge, i can use the rest of my line speed for gaming and doing everything else I need to do from my Gaming PC or laptop that is connected with my unshaped account.
 
Since 6am this morning its been rubbish torrent speeds on my 4Mbit line
80 to 180KB/s now at 11:26pm
 
I Have done 26.9 Gigs on a 384 uncapped shaped account from axxess in 120 hours (about 98% torrents)

Does anyone have an idea what the afrihost and Mweb accounts did from the 1st (just the first 120 hours usage should be fine),
just so we can see a comparison, as I am also very interested in the Mweb accounts.

384 kbps *60 (per minute) * 60 (per hour) *120 = 165888000 kbits
165888000 /8 (KB/s) = 20736000 / 1024 (mb) = 20250

So the Max download can be about 20 gigs
making Max upload about 10 gigs

Giving U a total max usage of 30 Gigs on a 384 account



PS. As stated in the posting not to long b4 this one, i am on a 4 meg line with my usage stats up till 20:00 today.
Normaly I wont bring that up, but i have seen that my downloads sometimes get brief speed increases (when there is alot of seeders) of a up to 70 KB/s, where the max should only be 48 KB/s and my uploads are usally running at 40 KB/s

OK, lets be fair. I have slashed the Axxess service last week based on my experience with a couple of Rapidshare downloads that was extremely slow (15kb/s on a 4meg line). And to be honest I have not tried to download anything else, so my comments was only based on rapidshare downloads.

In fact all other downloads I have since done have been fairly fast going between 300-400kb/s, which is fine on my line. Now only if they would throttle Rapidshare a bit less, life would be good. What has poor old rapidshare done to deserve such harsh treatment? I find their service very usefull for an additional back-up of photos and videos, as well as sharing with family in the UK.

Just a couple of observations on 384 uncapped shaped to date.

I've moved 7Gb since April 1 - would already have been capped on my Telkom 5Gb.

Torrents Friday thru Monday 09:00 (last test) ran flat out.

This morning torrents are throttled at about 5Kbps whereas direct downloads are running flat out (both tested using the same Fedora iso from the Fedora download site). As the majority of my downloads are available as direct the torrent situation does not really impact me.

Just did a Fedora "yum update" which ran at normal speed.

My VPN tunnels are running normally.

Thus far I'm a happy camper.

How can you see how much data have been downloaded with your uncapped account. If I go to the axxess control panel it says that I have used between 100 and 200 Meg a day. That does not seem right.
 
I am using a program called NetWorx.

Anyhow, I noticed even normal downloads are quite slow today for me. Anyone else experiencing this?
 
Quite correct the axxess control panel does not work for my uncapped account either.

My stats are taken from my IPCop firewall.
 
My NZBs ran flat-out all weekend on my 384k uncapped account (384k line), but dropped to less than 5KB/s as of yesterday morning. They were back up to full speed after 8pm last night, and are back to crap this morning.

So, it would seem like I am getting value from my account, just not all the time. It's about right for the price I am paying, I guess, but true uncapped it certainly isn't.

Anyway I started up with axxess uncapped a week ago (going to make my way through them all to see which one suits me) I've read the forums on the providers giving uncapped service, some users had great speeds, others had awful speeds. For me the speed has been way below average, disappointingly so. Before 12AM and after, weekday versus weekend makes no difference since it's been the same awful speeds all round. I've used up about 4GB in 7 days (normal usage for me), have the telkom 4MB line and when i had the shaped, paid account for about 20 GB a month my torrent speeds would average about to 90 KB - 220 KB, weekday, weekend, before or after 12 am made no difference, now the slowest speed is 3 KB/s and the best (running past 3 minutes at a time and no dipping/diving) is around 40 KB/s. Streaming would require some buffering before specially if it was high quality, now even junk quality videos are buffering atleast half of the time. Loading up my gmail box today takes anywhere between 30 - 45 seconds whereas before it was under 15s. This is very very disappointing, if things don't improve all round I'll be dropping axxess and trying Mweb uncapped next month

That sounds like 384 uncapped not 4096 - check your control panel to see which service you subscribed to.
 
:d lol i know which one i signed up for, checked again now - it says Axxess uncapped 4096, my username, date created, last renewal and next renewal :-/

They seem to be primarily rate limiting to 40KB/s - although during the day it dips even lower.

I have a 4Mb account, and the only time I could get full speeds was for a brief couple of hours on the weekend.

In that case I don't blame you for being pissed off - looks like only the 384 users are getting value for money.
 
Ill be straight and honest if your looking for an uncapped account DO NOT BUY AXXESS. The speeds are terrible 2-6kb/s during the day..... i got better speeds on dialup 12 years ago!!!! I have emailed and phoned and they say that having issues and not sure when its going to be resolved if ever. What dissappoints me is the fact that axxess have always usually provided good products and service.... that is till now.

DONT WASTE UR TIME OR MONEY ON AXXESS!!!!!!!
 
did the same as mentioned above. I wrote them a letter on Thursday, and still haven't received a reply. Oh well...Next month - Mweb.
