Axxess Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Uncapped 384 took a dive today, it would seem Axxess have throttled everybody now:(

I'm back on Telkom at the moment where speeds are normal.

i just cancelled my account with Axxess. I can't even check Gmail without it timing out. This service was a waste of money and time. Has anyone thought of taking them to ASASA (Advertising Standards Authority) due to false advertising? They are advertising 4096 speeds but we're all getting dial up speed.
 
hey there, i also feel really cheated by axxess!! i used to be an express account user and the night speeds were great; i ported over to the uncapped 4096 line when they started running their R1 special on the 31st of march. i immediately noticed a difference in download speed and beacause my express account was still active i went back and completed my downloads (using rapidshare premium) but i just chalked this up to 1st time jitters or something. anyways i'm in april now, watching as my html rapidshare premium download struggles to get more than 20kb/sec, cant get through to tech support who arent that helpful anyways and i sit here thinking, wtf?

its sad cos i really liked axxess but i can guarentee if they dont make amends in the remaining days, i\m gettin my ass over to a new isp!
 
Heavily throttled on the 7th? Lol.

Seriously looks like Mweb is the only way to go. Clearly being the first, they took the time to do proper planning and investigation - unlike every other ISP who's jumped on the bandwagon only to come up lacking.

I canncelled with axxess as well. But today is only hte 7 th gonna be a long month... Gonna try mweb next month. Was really hoping axxess would be better... It ran so awsome over the weekend wonder what went wong?

If they shape your bandwith to 30 or 5 kb/s that is also capping is it not? Just in another form. THey are limiting us. So the account is stil capped.

Ask to speak with Ryan everybody - maybe he will get the message. I think it is time Axxess had an official Thread so we know what is going on.

No I suspect throtling now. Shaping fluctuates and the service hasn't for a couple of days.
 
I also was using a Express uncapped last month and decided to try the new uncapped. Friday and Saturday NZB and Torrent speeds were good from Sunday I am not getting more than 40KB/s on NZBs and 50KB/s on Torrents. It feels like I am back on a 384k line and not a 4Mb line.
 
Definately lots of throttling hapening now. Haven't had a tick over 40kb in over 2 days.

I did speak to Ryan and sent him data last night as requested. Had no feedback yet.

The pings and traceroutes improved very much after 17:00 - indicating network congestion during office hours.

It is just past 8 now, and the situation is as bad if not worse as yesterday.

This almost exclusively for e-mail and web traffic. No torrents!

I don't think AXXESS has the clout to get this sorted.

i'm also on the shaped 4mb and seems on my line during the day i get 100-200kb on usenet using astraweb, around 7 at night it drops to 30kb then around 10pm picks up to full line speed, but the shaping is 24/7 not just weekdays. I have noticed that you need to play around with your nzb settings, if u using astraweb try using the ssl username option and ports provided with them, the speeds should increase, everytime i use the plain astraweb nzb name on port 119 the speeds stay on 30 so those ports are being shapped a lot, HTTP runs between 200-350kb 24/7.
Torrents i wont even worry cause almost everything is on nzb lately before torrents.

Then friand of mine is also the same ADSL 4mb and same package and he gets full speeds and very happy and they use a megaupload account, so i recon it might also be your exchange area that plays a part in the speeds we all getting. but realy want to test mweb aswell sofar only good things are coming from them
 
how can it be the exchange that when I change to my telkom account I run full speed regardless of the time of day but on axxess it runs about 10-20kB/s.
 
Things have improved a bit: I can now listen to continuous music by downloading YouTube videos. Yesterday I could not.

Ok, using Youtube for listening music is most probably a waste of good bandwidth, but it is a test for download speeds.
 
Today all the normal stuff is flying on 384 - in fact my VPN tunnels are running faster than on Telkom!

Maybe the heavy down loaders have all moved to MWeb, have to check that thread out:D
